Actually you are talking about the Grimm's version of Cinderella, which isn't the original version. Disney's Cinderella is based on Charles Perrault's version where no foot-cutting happens.
I wish the show was longer - I feel like Franco had some bet with the Fairy Godmother to see if Cinderella & her Prince would still love each other without the shoe. And his curse for the Tremaines is better than the Fairy Godmother letting them get off scot-free.

Honestly I wish this had been Cinderella 3. Cinderella 3 was a decent film but I thought this show was far more creative and imaginative with the story. Also DCL needs to do more original shows like this. All the shows on the cruises right now are either a showcase of popular Disney songs or a mini Broadway adaptation of a popular Disney film.
