If you are traveling to Disney World as someone with a disability (or different ability) such as autism, you can apply for the Disney Disability Access Service, or DAS Pass, to gain entry to rides and attractions without waiting in general admission lines. Scroll down for timestamps to skip to a specific section of the video.
I scoured the internet for resources to help me during the DAS Pass registration process and compiled everything I learned into this video!
✨ We will cover:
1. What is the DAS Pass and how does it work?
2. Step-by-Step Online Registration/Video Chat Process (including the Advanced Selection text chat process)
3. Tips for getting the most out of the DAS Pass
➡️ ⭐️ From Disney's website disneyworld.disney.go.com/gue... Disability Access Service (DAS) is a program offered at Walt Disney World theme parks to assist Guests who have difficulty tolerating extended waits in a conventional queue environment due to disability.

This is by far the best video I have watched on the setting up and registering for the DAS pass, and I have watched a lot of them. My sister has MS and requires a scooter to get around (no standing or walking), and after watching your video, I immediately sent her a link! We are both going in March of 2023, and we have our hotel reservations, tickets, and park reservations, so we are just counting down the days till we make that DAS call 30 days before our last day. I used to be a technical instructor and your video was clear, logical and concise. I feel that will arm us with being able to have the best experience we can have, so thanks so much!! 😃

I appreciate this video. I have an annual pass and I didn’t know this was an option for me. It will definitely help me on the days I go with people who want to be at the park for long periods of time. I can only handle Disney for so long before I get overwhelmed.

Thank you for this. You explained this much more clearly than some other people. I've done the card before but it was a long time ago before they made all the changes. I'm happy they're doing the app now, it will help me manage my energy better. This will help make my days at Disneyland much more enjoyable.

My daughter and I just went to Disneyland 2 weeks ago with my daughter's Girl Scout troop. We are both on the spectrum. I didn't learn of the DAS pass until a few days before the trip. I was so overwhelmed with all the info online about it that I didn't get it. Luckily the troop leader helped us all get a genie plus pass so that we could skip the lines which was really great. Had I seen a video like this I probably wouldn't have been intimidated by the process. Thanks for breaking down the information and showing the process. Next time we go, I feel like I can do it.

I had trouble waiting in lines as a kid, but since it was the '90s, my mom just taught me how to have fun in line for rides. As an adult, I still don't need a pass. Since amusement parks are one of my main special interests, I take advantage of the fact that this is the only time strangers are going to want to talk about amusement parks with me! I also love the anticipation of watching the ride operate around me and getting ever closer to the loading station. Would love to see more videos about your upcoming Disney trip!

You explained this so well. From a dad who has been using the DAS pass since 2014 and seen the changes through the years it has only improved. The fact that we can do stuff from the app now is awesome we use to have to go up to the ride and get a return time and that would upset our son as he though we were going to ride that ride at that point. The new way is so much smoother and honestly we watch for rides with lower wait times and try to go wait in lines for those and maybe set up a das for a ride that might give us an hour long wait time that way by the time we are done with the shorter wait we can go maybe ride Seven Dwarfs or Slinky dog depending on the park, This has helped our son learn to wait for shorter line waits such as maybe Little Mermaid or Winnie the Pooh. We've learned to do mobile order as well so when maybe waiting for a ride we can put in an order for a snack or meal while heading to another ride that we are currently waiting on and this has helped to keep the day moving smoothly. The only thing with the new DAS system is getting the pre register to work. We were unsuccessful in getting it done before we went but it was still realatively new and we just went to guest services at Animal Kingdom and they helped us out right away.

Wow. I wish we used this for our trip a couple weeks ago. This system is honestly very similar to what their normal fast pass program used to be. We never needed to worry about handling the park, because we could anticipate our day. Their new system is terrible, because you don’t know what reservations for rides you can get until 7am on that day. A schedule is SO important to me managing my day and it was MISERABLE. Talk about being overwhelmed and overstimulated for the week. Wishing we used the DAS pass. I’m glad you guys had a good experience.

I just finished signing up for a DAS pass for my son this morning. I logged on at about 8:25 this morning and I am already finished. It was so easy. I also was able to do it on my IPad with no problems, since I have a keyboard accessory for it. Thanks to your video, I was well prepared and able to navigate the process with ease. I also had backups when my first two pre-selections didn’t work out. So thank you so much for doing this video. I am pleasantly surprised that I got through so quickly. I think the earlier you start in the day the quicker you might get connected with an agent. Again thank you for this video and all of your other videos. They have been a great help. This is such a great, clear, informative video and such a big help ahead of our trip. One extra thing I've found out as a guest visiting from the UK is that, if your web browser believes you're in the UK, you can't access the web chat (or indeed any of the info about the DAS on the Disney website: it just takes you back to the homepage when you click on any of the links). You have to use a VPN set to USA for it to work. I find this so distressing: my daughter is no less autistic because we're British! Anyway, hoping it works ok for us when it's our turn to pre book in a few days.

I went to disneyland paris last month with a disability pass and it was completely different. We had to register phisically at the park, I had to bring some kind of evidence that I actually needed the pass. so I used my Autipass, but a note from my doctor would have been okay too. There were no reservations. i was simply allowed to walk up to any ride through the exit and hop on, allong with the rest of my family. Sometimes there was a short line of other people with a das pass. For character meets we could skip the lines and the cast member would give us a return time, usually it was only a five minute wait. There was also a seperate disability line at the restaurants so we didn't have to wait too long there either. It was amazing. i honestly don't know how I used to manage disneyland without it

I went the summer after kindergarten (looong before any of us even considered I might be autistic). Although, I kind of think that my not being aware of the concept of summer break should have been a hint. Or being traumatized by the haunted mansion ride, not the ghosts and things, but the seat suddenly jerking backwards. It took me over a decade to be able to stay in the dentist chair while they lowered it down.

Plus to having your son having a pass is both of you can have day of selections in line for separate rides. Me and my brother took 10 people on the rides 5 minutes apart because we both have autism when at cedar point. Any park go to guest relations and ask.

@@MomontheSpectrum my friend didn't understand why I told everyone to meet 2 hours from now to ride a Rollercoaster until I said we could walk on. She was worried they might be on a ride and then planned on it. We had a great time.

It’s so interesting to hear your experience and how the chat went for you. When I did this process, in late December, I was not asked those questions prior to the video chat, I also did not see the CM during the video call and the question I was asked was slightly different. I had some trouble with the CM and the advance selections, however once I did get connected, they asked me to provide a list of all the info needed for selections (park visiting, date and top 3 choices for ride) then the CM returned with 2 ride times for each day rather than walking through the selections like you did. Not sure if things have changed and issues have been more streamlined since I registered in late December. Also, I’m not sure if things have changed, but when I went in Jan 2022 I was able to get day of reservations in the morning for rides that I had an advanced reservation scheduled in the afternoon. I did not have to cancel the advanced selection in order to get the day of pass. It actually was very helpful to get on rides I was very excited to ride multiple times.

This is so helpful. My husband has severe spinal issues so standing and extended walking makes it difficult for him. Thank you for this info!

I'm from Denmark (northern Europe) and I hope this will be available on out next holiday to either Florida or California. I had to tell my daughter I couldn't do Disney last we were there and she was disappointed. The heat and especially the enormous amount of (self-centered, sorry 🙈🤷‍♀️) people kept me away.

Huge tip: contact DAS services for your pre trip interview on Sunday morning 7am est. They're open 7 days a week! I called at this time and got through and finished in just an hour! I have heard of 5 hour wait times during the week.

What is the interview? My mom has severe anxiety and can get claustrophobia from crowds and my birthday is July 4th, I wanted to go and she asked if she can join but how would I go about getting the Pass with interview?

I’m really glad I found this now as me and my boyfriend are planning a trip, I’m type 1 diabetic and haven’t been to Disney since I was 11 (I’m 20 now) and I ended up getting sick in line last time and spent most of the trip exhausted from standing in line and constantly checking to see if my blood sugar drops. So I’m hoping this will help some so I don’t end up having to leave the ride from exhaustion and low blood sugar (I pack snacks but sometimes it’s just one of those days where it’s hard to keep my blood sugar up) My boyfriend and I have ADHD as well so we probably wouldn’t be able to stand waiting in lines for long

The seperate passes are super helpful when the kiddos are older. I have teenagers. The only part of that they ask the teenager the questions, which can be difficult if verbal communications are not a strong suit. Its good to have a script just incase.

I didnt see any, but I believe you. Wish I would have found them before our video call. I was under prepaired, and it was kinda sad. Still happy ending tho because this pass is so helpful!! Universal also has a simular pass called the Orange Pass. Works simular but way easier to get, no app required

I don’t have personal experience, but based on my research prior to my trip, when registering you could do the talking as their guardian/carer, and your children would simply need to be present if they are to be the user of the pass as their photo would need to be taken during the registration process to be applied to their pass.

I was on the fence before my trip on whether or not we'd really need DAS. So I didn't end up signing up in advance. It was an awful long wait in the park (with someone who struggles being in that line). If you aren't sure, call in anyway and let them know that fact. If you also have physical disabilities, getting DAS for Jungle Cruise & Spaceship Earth aren't really worth it. There is a dedicated physical disibility virtual line for both of those attractions. Sign up at the attraction entrance. There may be more, those are the 2 that I remember.

We hadn't had any issues until this last visit for a Halloween party. My mom had a massive stroke that left her unable to use her right side, cognitive issues, memory issues, and incontinence - even with the DAS pass I change her multiple times in a day. Anywho, this last time we went, I told them about the issues with incontinence and the CM responded rather coldly with "that's just a diagnosis those aren't symptoms." I kind of made a face of disbelief and I think it must have been a strong reaction because I remember her sort of going quiet and giving us the pass without another word. I'm hoping it was a one off and not a sign that they're somehow getting unnecessarily strict with the pass. It's a tough enough issue to discuss in public and my mom always just kind of hangs her head in shame when I'm discussing it with the CM (and other people around listening). We did try to do it over chat but, as you stated, the wait times have been insane lately.

I have to take my service dog with me because she alerts to elevated heart rates and panic attacks and helps disrupt certain behaviours. The last time I went to register for the pass (at Epcot) the cast member was super rude to me asking why I even need the dog and I get really anxious waiting in lines especially for how long that took, and when I get confronted like that and put under pressure I go mute. My friend was about to jump in and scream at him had he not given the pass. I hope to never experience that again.

I've been to Disney many times with my family and I have had either a meltdown or shutdown (something that I didn't realize was happening because I didn't know I was autistic when I was a kid) on every trip. My most prominent memory of Epcot is throwing up in the bushes right before the fireworks and spending the rest of the evening sitting in a wheelchair covering my ears. Now that I've been working on understanding myself and knowing what I need to do in order to not overdue things, I'm curious to see how our next trip to Disney goes.
@kdiaz918

For me it was waiting in lines. To this day I always get sick waiting in the line (dizzy, nauseous). Thankfully the fireworks don't bother me so much (though other noises and crowds do...) but I don't stay anymore because my SD doesn't really like them and I'd rather not put her through the stress.
