Jiko The Cooking Place has reopened at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and I am bringing you along for dinner to share the full 2022 updated dining experience, fun facts & unique details, and also enjoy the beautiful savannah with zebras, giraffes, birds and more animals! Jiko is one of Walt Disney World's signature restaurants and the dining experience is truly unique. After dinner I bring you on a tour of the Animal Kingdom Lodge lobby, gift shop & the savannah where we see more animals at night! Jiko is known for its celebrated collection of South African wines and we sample a few, try a popular appetizer, entrees and dessert, all while enjoying a glowing sunset view! Miss that resort so much. We have stayed at AKL twice and it was awesome. Sat by that lobby firepit/place quite a few times and never realized the artwork was from that story. Great place to get an after dinner drink and sit, relax and relive the day in the parks. Wonderful at Christmas time.

I spent two bucket list nights at AKL jambo house in late December this year. I had been once before for dinner at Jiko in 2014 …. Staying there is absolutely incredible. It is beautiful, stunning, all of the positive adjectives. I cried each morning as the sun came up over Arusha savanna. Thank you for this little taste! I cant wait to go back.

We ate there the next day and absolutely loved it! It was kinda a reunion for us when we ate there since this was the first ever restaurant at Disney that we had diner at together. Can’t recommend Jiko enough!
