I don’t think it was your pic I think it’s because Dreamsnaps is broken. When voting today, I’m seeing pirate pics from last week. Devs needs to take a look at why this is happening

As long I am getting some moonstone, I won’t worry how they are deciding how much I get. But I always do my best on following what they ask for the pictures. And I work hard on it

You may feel disappointed at your result, but man, I am hopping(heh) mad! 😡 Your submission was incredible! I would have voted for it even if I didn't watch your streams and videos. You can see the amount of time, work, and care it took to compose this vs taking a quick pic in front of skull rock or the chest of treasures. Gah! So mad! It really does prove how much randomness is involved in Dreamsnaps. Sorry for the rant 😓

The Dapper challenge was during the week that a lot of people were locked out of their games due to the Mansion house skins. I wonder if that had something to do with higher rankings. I was locked out of my game that week from Wed-Mon. Once I could log back on again I quickly submitted a dreamsnap and ended up getting my highest score yet.

Thank you for doing all this in the name of science. I've been watching for a few weeks now, have used some of your suggestions and, for the first time, got 4000 moonstones for my pirate submission!

Oh man I'm sorry that happened to you BUT I want to say a special thank you for your sacrifice for the purpose of data!! You helped prove that which many of us really appreciate l. One of reasons your my fav DLV streamer is because you do analytical tests like this so I always watch you first and it's the highlight of my week when dreamsnaps come out. Thank you for the hard work and time you out into it for us!!!

I did the exact same, and I spent 4 hours.... there is definitely something up with the voting later. Either ppl have got lazy anfdvote for anything without looking ... or the standards are just way too high now for dreamsnaps

This just proves that all the hard work people are putting into Dream Snaps means nothing at all!! My submission was subpar at best, 2500 moonstones....how?! Mr. Starinsky had such a great submission!!

A few RU-vidrs had been posting about voting for selfies or old submissions because they felt bad and I think that actually affected some of the voting too.

Yeah your submission just fell into the dreamsnap randomness this week. No way it should of scored lower this week than in dapper when it was not be exactly on theme

I'll be interested in seeing how I do on the beauty bedroom pic. I actually went above and beyond on the tags, which I hadn't before. I would just make the 3 out of 3 and 4 out of 4 and call it a day because decorating is so much work. Meaning it's so much work because any time we place anything down, we get taken back to the top of the inventory list and have to scroll allllll the way back to where we left off. On a controller, this a nightmare. So I have been doing the basics because of this. I hope they fix the inventory. I wish they would put new items first on the list and I wish they would give us more categories. I did the Halloween tag and only 5 items appeared. So many pumpkins and j-o-l did not show up in there. The Nightmare Before Xmas items didn't show up in the Halloween tag. But for the bedroom, I did try with more items and hitting all of the tags. I usually average 1,200-1,500, so we'll see if I can do better. If not, I'm not spending the time to decorate until they can fix the inventory deal.

I think your submission scored low because Dreamsnaps is broken, honestly. Your submission was top tier imo🥲should have gotten at least 4000 moonstones ❤I seen someone discovered that dreamsnaps has been putting in-game photos, such as welcoming the Beast to the Valley photo, into the competition randomly. No way do the photos meet the weekly requirements so nobody could have entered the photo themselves, it simply wouldn't be able to be submitted. So, somehow dreamsnaps is grabbing story mission, in game photos, as well as othe unrelated photos and putting them in the pool of dreamsnaps😮Gameloft needs to fix Dreamsnaps...hopefully sooner than later 😅

I got 4000 moonstones and ranked #359. It's the highest rank I've ever had so far so I'm pleasantly surprised!

I love your submission you can tell you put a lot of work into it. i would of voted if i saw it i voted for so many and didnt come across your photo. I myself and really bummed bc i have not been doing well and i shouldn't complain bc ya know free moonstone.. but i was super proud of this one and thought it was my best nope only got 800 moonstone.

I also reused my critter submission for the pirate submission bc they were both pirate themed. I got 4000 on the critter submission and only 2500 for the pirate them dreamsnaps. Serrho also reused an old dreamsnaps and did worst this time then the last time

I have come to the conclusion that dreamsnap results make no sense anymore :D

I worked so hard to make an epic photo, i had a whole pirate outfit on and i tried to make a corner of a room look like a ships cabin. I even had a pirates of the Caribbean desk with map and this week is the lowest ive ranked so far! I was in the 80,000 ranking and only got 300 moonstones. While ive definitely tried on others this one i went all out and didn't get much for it 😔

I thought outside the box to hopefully standout from all the dazzle beach/donald/pirate parrot dreamsnaps and took a pic in dazzle beach cave looking for pirate treasure with Prince Eric playing flute when we found gems/gold! After voting/seeing other pics I was doubting how well I would do but ended up doing better than I thought and got 1200 moonstones! Here’s to hoping we get more moonstones next week! 👍🏻⭐️📸💰

I think it is because of having premium shop items in the pic. The worst I have ever done in Dreamsnaps was when I had a premium item in the background of a photo. I think ppl won’t vote for those.

I was gonna say this on your last video. The break down you had was not based on a lot of fact but just on data that people sent in. I have absolutely no clue how its ranked its crazy. So i was gonna say i had 2 friends get to vote on my pic last voting. The screen grabs they sent showed i was up against the same picture on both friends accounts. That means your picture is not put up against a random picture “each” time someone votes. You are put up against the same person each time your picture comes up for people. So if this is correct then if the other person’s picture is better , chances are that you will not get voted for by most people even if its a killer picture. This in not fact but just something i had happen and wanted to share :). 😊

You were robbed, but at least now you have a video that shows it doesn't matter if you stream making your Dreamsnap. Love watching you create them and I also get great ideas from the chat as we talk about it.

I play on Switch and I always get worried that when I do an indoor shot, shooting from the corner to get the most of the room, we always get the black sides because using the free form camera on Switch is terrible. Anytime I see that kind of picture I know they are on Switch and just can't help it. Example was at the 8:41 mark. Not sure how to do it any differently when we want a corner shot.

I think the road to 4k is to create a photo that is familiar to most people -- something that a grade school child would recognize as the theme without knowing the theme. That's what I started doing after getting poor results from thinking outside the box, and it's served me well!

My mindset for Dreamsnaps is I always think I am going to get 300, so if I get more I am pleasantly surprised and if I get 300 oh well. It helps my brain that way. I got 1500 for my pirate submission too.

I got 4000 and I was ranked 315 on my PS five and I got 4000 and was ranked 15 on my switch. I thought I’d get a little bit more ranked 15 but oh well I’ll take anything.

Disregard what I'm gonna say if this has already been discussed in a previous video, ok? I think another issue with the way the Dreamsnaps photo system was designed is that the amount of times your photo shows to people varies immensely based on the quantity of times a person votes. If a person votes for the bare minimum to get the 50 moonstones, and another votes far beyond that number, which one has a higher chance at stumbling upon your photo? That's right, the person who votes a lot! Which means that contestants don't get the same amount of voting in their submission equally, some will, by a complete arbitrary twist of luck, be voted way less than the rest, and less votes means lower ranks. So how do we fix that efficiently? Increasing the number of voting to earn moonstones could help a tad, it would reduce the margin of unseen submissions, but it's not a 100% fix because the photo that shows up to people within this voting poll is completely random. There are just too many players to curate through! No bots either, surely, cuz as "advanced" companies sell them as, they still don't understand context, they don't have critical thinking to gauge how creative or well composed a submission is. Thoughts?

i did an off theme pirate challenge and got 900 but i still had a good pirate outfit so im not shocked i got 900 but i think theme does matter

I had that same reaction to mine.. i went brazzzyyy on decorating and outfit.. and got around the same u did.. made 0 sense to me...

I am surprised you didn't get that many moonstones. I got 4000 moonstones for the first time ever and well I liked my submission I didn't think it was 4000 moonstones worthy. I did hear that something was off with Dreamsnaps. I hope that you rank better in the next one.

I give up. I think those who have ideas on what is wrong with dream snaps coding should put in a ticket or submit a suggestion to the devs. A new set of eyes might just help. I know during voting I can across slot of pictures that fit the week before better than pirate theme. So this was my earliest submission to date on Sunday I did it in my glade of trust, had way more items than needed including gold and gems with the rowboat or whatever that was. I was a female pirate. I scored 70.44, ranked 18616 and got 1500 moonstones. This weeks challenge, I am deep into creating an awesome Christmas present for my granddaughter and grandson a India truck/bus decoration inspired Barbie Camper van from a vintage plastic canvas pattern and forgot it was Wednesday. So I created my Belle and Cinderella bedroom out of a base of a started Cinderella bedroom as I literally had 45 minutes to submit a photo. Thank goodness I am an avid reader so have a ton of bookshelves scattered around my main house on its 4 floors. i hit all the markers mandatory and suggested. We will see.

Dreamsnaps was a wreck last week. Nothing made sense. Doesn't seem quite as bad this week, so who knows.

Guys, I have a problem with submitting my dreamsnap for the next halloween event. I try to take a picture with multiple items of both the categories bold and simple, but it only counts my simple items 1/3 no matter how many simple items I put in the picture. Bold are 3/3. Has anyone else encountered this bug?

Could it have been cause it was an outfit challenge so in theory we couldn’t fully see your clothing

This is crazy- I put little to no effort on mine and ranked 6K and got 4K moonstones. Yours is absolutely amazing and your results are not aligning with how good it is 😭 this sucks!!!

Don't feel to bad I got 900 Dream snaps but I am keeping happy by saying it is for fun.

Maybe this time it didn't do well simply because many other people did better??!! Some people forget that we're graded on a curve. Maybe the snaps you went up against we're just better this time? (It's possible. Lol)✌️

You don't get as many moonstones on Playstation 4, I'm not sure about other consoles, but for example I ranked in the 7000, and scored 65, but only received 900 moonstones. There have been times where I have ranked in the 500 to 600 range and only get 2000 moonstones. It's a little bit annoying, I can understand item limit because my console can't handle 6000 but getting less moonstones in challenges then pc is like awe.

I am starting to think DreamSnaps is broken. No matter what we guess about it, we are wrong. I think I should have gotten higher than I did. I got the same amount of moonstones as you.

After this week, I no longer believe dreamsnaps is bugged. I think people are completely disillusioned with the results, so just submit random stuff because they are sick of dreamsnaps. The results just don't make sense some times. There seems to be a pattern at times, but the more you dig in, the more random it seems.

I don't understand how people who do selfies are able to check off all of the qualifications for the challenge.

I had to laugh at mine, I just got 600 ms , I never expected to reach more than 1200 but omg 600. lol I just didn't think it was that bad. It was rushed however because I help my daughter out. She loves the game but sometimes when it comes to the dreamsnaps, she's only 7 and has a short attention span lol she got 2500 ms. So I did better on hers lol I'm expecting the next one to be even lower. I'm half asian so I went for an asian style, it looked great but the photo was ehh.. In my defence I have 3 to do lol my husband was really busy with work and couldn't log in so I did it for him. (me making excuses :p)

I'm 100% shocked & disappointed on your behalf. Yes 1500ms is in the top 20% of submissions BUT that snap was EPIC & it deserved an amazing rank & reward. I think that definitively proves you don't rank high just because we watch you make a snap. Some of us watched you do that one twice lol

I disagree on the telling a story. I've done that now with 2 snaps that got me 4K moonstones each and scored 900 on one and 3k on the other. Perhaps it isn't telling a story, but rather the story you tell. And how does a 10x10 room look 3 times as large in some of those images?

Your outfit wasn't a pirate outfit. It was a Prince costume with a Pirate hat. I think that's why it did poorly.

Something is wrong with Dreamsnaps, it's not your submission.

I think if your outfit had a bit more pirate-y outfit it would have been so much better, the hat could have been changed and perhaps put on a coat and tangled pants with boots, perhaps an eye patch instead of the mask, that would be my feedback I'd say :)

I mean that truthfully and not because I like you - you got robbed!!! How can you expect reliable results when at least 25% of the shown pictures in dreamsnaps were false! The algorithm is seriously broken and all of our results are inaccurate because of it. I think gameloft has some explaining to do!!
