It's sad how the original Kenner Millennium Falcon WITHOUT all the lighting and sound effects was actually a PLAY TOY. Seriously, you could place two figures in the cockpit WITHOUT contorting them, the rear roof lifted off to where you could position figures in the rear to play holo-chess OR have Luke take a pinata wack at the training sphere AND the top gun clicked as it swiveled! Of course, if you TRIED To fly that Falcon inverted the roof WOULD fall off. To make the NEW edition Millennial Falcon look worse, the original Hasbro Falcon also had working landing gear if I remember correctly! WERE the Hasbro Star Wars toys the greatest? Arguably no -- I got rid of ALL of mine and I even had the crappy radio control R2-D2 that broke within three months of buying it BUT they were clearly meant to be played with and enjoyed for however long it took you to destroy them!
My Falcon was from Micro machine and was roughly the same size but it would open completely and had 4 seat on the front for 4 people, had the main hold with the holographic game table (and the seats) and other things like the smuggling compartments. The upper part, when opened, had a huge spinning circular platform where you could attach mini-veicholes like Y-Wing, Speeder Bike atc, to simulate splace-battle. It was EVERYTHING I loved it and was full of characters, with C-3P0 with a leg on his hand, Han, Chewbacca, Lando, Leia, Nien Nunb a Y-Wing and also had a Mynock!!! This trash it's NOTHING compared to that!

The only toy of value will be the single Rose Tico that Ethan doesn't end up buying and tossing in the trash. Kelly Marie Tran will make a fortune off of it... when she sells it to Ethan and he tears up the packaging and tosses it in the trash.
I always thought that the arms on the front of the _Falcon_ were like pincers that opened and closed to manhandle and move cargo? It is a transport freighter.

I have been waiting for this. As the owner of a lot of SW toys over the years, I can say this is clearly among the crappier ones. What a colossal disappointment of a toy. I'll go back to haunting garage sales and craiglist looking for a sandcrawler is good or very good shape knowing that I'm not missing out on a damn thing. I just look back at the Kenner toys or the re-released versions of them(from the 90's) and those are legues above these cheep craps. I honestly wish that I could hunt down a perfect shape Y-Wing or B-Wing.
I've noticed that even the LEGO ones have seemed to decline. It's kinda sad really, considering the clinically insane quality of the constituent parts of those things.
I think LEGO has 2 problem: -Making overpriced kits now. You can't get anything that dose not cost an arm and a leg unlike in the old days where you could get something decent witouth spending insain amounts. -They don't realy get much to work off of. I mean many things are eather uninteresting or rehased.
I can openly admit to you that current LEGO themes are rather stale at this point. However, the pieces they come with are improving. Since they are construction toys, one can simply buy things for the parts and not for what they are. It's what I do. Yeah... About the price. On my side of the planet, all LEGO costs as much as it normally would in America. Had to live with them before I decided to move on to model kits with the promises of never having to worry about mismatched colors and equal customisation opportunities.
Construction toys, yes. But even than when you buy something you wanna build up the model that you have bought and disasemble it later on. And putting tugeather more complex ones are much harder and need more specific parts. Just to look back when the Phantom Menac came out and I was like 8-10 I could choos several cheep kits as well like a small droid transport ship(not the big one), naboo fighter,pod-race car and so on. They had a kit for basicly every consumer. Not just for the people who can "afford" it. And I can't say the same for the new ones.
Call me an easily-impressed pleb, but the way this Millennial Falcon lights up and makes roaring takeoff/landing sounds -- to say nothing of the "pew-pew-pew!" sounds -- seems like a toy I might have legit enjoyed as a child. At the very least, this one comes across as a toy made for kids (rather than thirsty SJW collectors), and one that kids might actually enjoy playing with (unlike, say, the incredibly pointless and boring Force Link wristband, or the majority of the Disney "SW" action figures, which are equally boring and pointless). All things considered, this one seems a'ight.

If any parent were to buy this for their kid, it should *definitely* be at a discount price (and, considering all the clearancing going on, I imagine finding it cheap won't be too difficult). • I was referring to the small minority -- or literal handful, as it most likely is -- of SJWs (and other adult fanboys/girls) who enjoy Disney "SW" enough to buy the action figures and Funko Pop figures and such. They *do* exist, there's just not enough of them to make these toy lines profitable in any way, shape or form.
the han toy is not being held back. they know that the only character anybody is interested in is han, so they are forcing people to pay more to get it.

I think a lot of details used to be painted or "we just didn't care about these things when we were kids when the original films were released." It's a bit of both, I think. Yeah, I don't remember ANY of my Hasbro kits (and I had the ORIGINALS from the first film) requiring all those stickers to be put on before I could play with them. They were PLAY KITS back then and some of the things DID break easily and, NO, the X-wing's wings didn't stay closed properly OR popped out if you played with it to be honestly truthful. They had their issues but NOBODY back then was thinking of these things as collectibles to be sold online or at auction 20-40 years later. It was not even a thing back then.

These things haven't changed much since then apparently. EDIT: Did a google search for the original Millennium Falcon toy and it was practically identical, except for the new paint and front piece they added for this one.

He needs to see how far his water-bottle rockets will go with a payload. He's a gotten a few water-pressurized rockets to go up to 1700 feet. Wonder how high it would go with a payload of Rose's?

Looks like a lot of effort and hard work put into something that is crap. I don't get this new/old cargo hold on the front. I though the torpedo/missile tubes were on the front of the 2 points, which are now covered. Did he have to drop his cargo inorder to shoot the missiles?

I think Uncle Ethan has officially exceeded his last year's carbon footprint with all the trips to Wal Mart these past two months to get the new Star Wars action figures... HEy, if he doesn't want the figures, there's a guy in Australia who's shooting home-made water bottle rockets over 800 feet into the air in the desert! I'm sure he'll want to test those rockets to see how high they can take a payload into the air!
I am so amazed with the plastic bag that holds these small pieces. And the cardboard inside the box is so ad hoc and non plus ultra. Please, let me order 2 bags and 3 cardboards but without any ship please.
