It's hypocritical that people who complain about the lack of original movies don't go and support original movies when they do release. BTW, it's great to see you again!
Thank you! And I agree, it's certainly frustrating. It just seems like original films need to be above and beyond excellent to compete with sequels/franchises at this point
Good to see you Joe. You look healthy and well. I didn't really know anything about Elemental but I'll have to check it out when its available to watch at home. I'll keep an eye out for your future uploads though. You're the man, peace.
Yo! What's up Joe. Its so fun and refreshing to hear from my favorite Disney Guy after about 3 years!!! I found this video's overall topic to be very interesting, especially since I personally don't really read about box office results or how much or how low amount of money movies make or are making. Super excited to find out what you've been up to in life, what the plans for this channel are, and whatever else you want to share with us hopfully next week sometime. By the way, I watched Strange World near the end of last month and I found it be enjoyable for what it was, but I definitely thought it was a bad movie! Loved Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny though, and I felt like it was a good ending to the series when I saw it a few weeks ago.
I did a video recently on Elemental. Its failure has more to do with the struggles of original animation moreso than even the marketing. WOM and legs are great, though. Also you're back!
Welcome back dude. When are you going to upload the disney guy review for Aladdin and can you please also give us a tribute to Robin Williams and Gilbert Godfred? They both died.
It's nice to see you again, Joe. But i'm afraid Disney has been in really big, big BIG trouble ever since you were gone. I think it might be an interesting subject to tackle.
I wonder how long until we start classifying Pixar films into "eras" like Disney ones. there already seems to be a "classics" age w their early films, then the sequels era of the 2010s, going into this string of less critically-acclaimed original films now in the 2020s. guess we'll see
I was just thinking about this the other day, actually, that now that Pixar has been producing films for over two decades, I do think that there are some distinct divisions in the eras of their films. Always tough to distinguish an era while its ongoing, but clearly there have been ebbs and flows to the company
Clearly their Golden age is Everything from Toy Story to up to think they went 15 years and only one sequel Toy Story 2 which honestly feels like a different movie compared to the original cause it seems to improve the original . I’d say one of the major reasons why this era is as great As it is because one what I call the Big Five every film in this era was directed by one of the big 5 of closely worked on as co directors . You got John Lassiter on 4 of the films Pete doctor on 2 films Andrew Stanton on 2 and brad bird on 2 films and thou Lee Unkrifh didn’t direct im this era he obviously helped co direct and was a big contributor. Let’s face it when we think of Pixar these men’s names pop up . And strangely enough in recent years it seems like all 5 haven’t played as big a role . John of course was forced to leave Pete doctor has been promoted and doesn’t have time for filmmaking . Lee Unkrich seems to have retired . And honestly I do t know what’s happening to Andrew and Brad . Now that we got new names directing Pixar films recently the quality doesn’t seem as high cause those 5 individuals aren’t around as much . With the second era from Toy Story 3 through Toy Story 4 we’ve had a combination of old and new and possibly more corporate intervention which may explain why theirs too may sequels . This new Pixar era seems to be experimenting on what interests people with new filmmakers like the directors or Luca and turning Red . Hopefully this experimental age leads to a new second Good age possibly a Pixar Renaissance. They said they take a break from sequels for awhile after Toy Story 4 I feel like it’s still too soon I feel they should have waited till 2027 or 2028 to do inside out 2 and Toy Story 5 hopefully that Pixar Renaissance starts soon it be nice to have this epic Pixar theater experience again
