When my wife and I did our Disney's Animal Kingdom day we had a breakfast reservation at Boma. Found out, that: A. Boma was not at the park itself but at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (I prided myself on my research but, in this instance, I clearly fell way short), and B. There was not a bus that went from our hotel (Port Orleans French Quarter) to the Lodge ... just to the park, where we had to catch another bus, to the Lodge. Needless to say, we were way late for our reservation. Bless their hearts, they were perfectly accommodating (we got the impression that this happened a lot) and our breakfast was fantastic. As it was a late honeymoon for us, they gave us some absolutely wonderful chocolates, to go with our breakfast. Love, love, love this restaurant, though I now know to find an alternate to the resort buses, should we breakfast here again. (Unless we are lodging at that particular hotel, which I really want to do.)
What a great review Deni. Your videos are always so well done. Boma is just amazing. I dream about those coconut steel cut oats! They are just so delicious. Hands down, Boma is my favorite breakfast buffet.
I do really love Boma for breakfast, been a while since we have been there, but still a favorite. Loved the review...🦒 Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite resorts to stay..So beautiful and relaxing.
We love Boma. It is great when you have vegans in your party. Everyone can get what they like. We just went with the whole family the day after Christmas and everyone enjoyed the meal.
Loved this video!! Boma is a breakfast favorite and your tour of the buffet was great!! They should bottle that mustard!! Yum!!! Love the POG juice, too, but I think it’s passion fruit (not papaya) and I wish I could find it at my local grocery!
We don't really like buffets and rarely eat at them, and yet Boma is one of our favorite restaurants on property. We love it for both breakfast and dinner. We love the variety and the African touches. And somehow their food never has that warmed over, sitting under a heat lamp feel that most other buffets do. Love it! I ate at Jiko recently and left somewhat disappointed as it was good, but didn't seem worth the cost (filet was not a signature restaurant worthy cut IMHO). I'd much rather go to Boma where we always have a wonderful experience.
Dvc member at AKL since 2008, finally had breakfast here this year. Buffet was excellent, just too much food for me. The price is high for breakfast with no characters. Would not mind so much if there was characters there. Crystal palace is my favorite breakfast buffet, really just paying to see pooh and gang 😊

Had the pleasure of eating a late breakfast at Boma a few months back. It was a great mixture of items and I enjoyed getting to taste the African selections which were delicious!! Will definitely be back. Plus it's nice to be able to explore AKL a bit after the meal and see some animals.
Our family loves Boma! Breakfast & dinner are both amazing. The service is always great as well... We're heading back in May & have both booked, can't wait :)
Had dinner at Boma’s, very good selection. However Buffet is not my wife’s fave and her walking mobility is limited and that makes it harder when at a buffet.

Best advice I got at Boma from waitress was to sample everything and not take too much of one thing so you can enjoy as many items as possible. Definitely applies to Boma for either breakfast or dinner. Been to Boma dinner twice, but never breakfast. The experience is what you make it and is best when you go there to try different things.

Love Boma! We like to book the latest possible breakfast reservation on days we rope drop AK park...do FOP, Safari, and whatever else we can cram in, them hop over to AKL for breakfast. So good!
We live in Michigan, but as DVC members we get to Disney twice a year. We usually stay at AKL once and Saratoga Springs once. For our AKL stay, we do two Boma breakfasts and one Boma dinner - often the best part of the stay!
Thank you so much for this review, and all of the buffet info. We LOVE Boma for dinner, but have never tried breakfast. I'm putting it on the list! Tusker House is our next favorite. We used to be big fans of Akershus. We actually liked the odd, cold buffet, and miss it.
We try to have Boma Breakfast on every trip. This last time, we tried Boma dinner as well. It was wonderful and we can’t wait to go back. This place is a gem! Thanks for the great video, Deni!!
Looks improved. We 86’d this buffet after eating there in 2018 or 2019. The buffet line was a 15 minute wait on every pass. Probably 1/3 of the serving dishes were empty. Many others were cold. We only saw our server once, so our drinks ran out. Kids were running amok, running up to the buffet and grabbing things with their hands. Pretty sure my wife would never eat there again - even now 5 or more years later.
