It's funny how everyone had a meltdown over the gay teen romance, when it literally contributes nothing to the movie and is just there for pandering. The fact Disney will use one underdeveloped moment in a film as a selling point to go see it just goes to show how little they care about representation and just want money and outrage bait.
I didn't watch it based on art style alone, it genuinely looks like it's from Sony or Illumination, not Disney. That intro animation looks amazing though, why tf wasn't the WHOLE movie like that...?

Yeah the problem with LGBT stuff in Disney movies was never a matter of not liking LGBT, it was always a matter of how poorly written it always is, they wanna show it off so badly it just ends up looking like they're forcing to sound supportive when they aren't, treating LGBT like a cult, numbers and special, but not as human beings. I remember when I told a group I was in that I was bi and they started treating me like some special alien of some sort... Actually made me uncomfortable. Thankfully my current friends don't mind, nothing just changed. And a good example you brought up: brokeback mountain. A movie exactly about a gay couple that's written not for ESG or anything, it just is what it is. And I think that's the perfect way to describe what's woke, but tbh, a lotta people overreact when calling something woke, like God of War Ragnarok for an example... As if Freya herself isn't strong and a queen in Norse mythology. But anyways, Strange World and Lightyear aren't bad for the gay couples, they're bad because they're poorly written, like Wish. Like, I get it, nobody likes discrimination, but no need to defend the multi billionaire corporation, they've been making shit movies for a very long time. So yeah, once again I completely agree with you

I definitely agree about movies using LGBT characters to try and show off how “woke” they are or whatever I remember seeing a trailer for the Chucky movie featured a scene of two guys making out, which has nothing to do with anything else that took place and is simply there to grab attention it feels like I like it when works, big movies or otherwise, feature lgbt characters (I’m queer myself actually) but like with all characters there are right ways of going about it and there are wrong ways of going about it (Like with the whole “strong female character” thing so many movies are doing)

I like this movie much better than wish, because at least isnt derivative, its better to have no villain than a stupid one, it acyually have a theme of how diferent generations have diferent aproches to challanges and the enviorment, and at least is a adventure action story like my favorites disney movies. Wish is 3/10 Strange World is 5/10
Personally I found the world itself to be interesting, but it only because I’m into strange alien worlds and that sort of thing And that’s about it, nothing else about the movie is really memorable for me
I thought it was pretty good. I really dont understand why so many people dislike it. I thought the relationships between characters were realistic and I found Ethan's storyline to be really touching. I also really liked the worldbuilding. I think the only part of the movie that stood out to me as bad was the villain, it was a really weak addition and I dont think she was even necessary, especially with how easily she was "turned good", idk. The movie was done really dirty with getting no marketing whatsoever and having a bland title.
As someone who has not seen it I definitely think it's the movie that did a certain thing in a particular way. I have an opinion about this movie. It reminds me of the fact. That's why!
Strange world to me is the one Disney movie where I want to Enjoy it but sadly I didn’t so I found this movie to be Ok it’s not Perfect movie what ruined me from enjoying this movie was the Backlash of Ethan being Gay look I don’t care if a character in Movie or a in a Series is Gay If people would have just not worried and it then people like me would have loved to Enjoy it now but yeah 2022 was a Sad year for Disney Animated movies but so far I Enjoyed Encanto, Raya and The last Dragon , Wish more Than Strange world
