For nearly 50 years, Disney World’s monorail line has been THE prestige transportation option from the resorts to Disney parks. In late 2019, the new Skyliner gondola system was unveiled, linking more resorts to more parks and giving guests a bird's eye view of the property. But which transportation option has the better hotels? And where should YOU stay on your next Disney trip?

After staying at the both the Grand Floridian and Caribbean Beach I’d have to go with the Skyliner. We had zero issues - it was a fast and relaxing ride to the parks.

A lesser known cheat staying at the poly is it’s a very short walk to ticket and transportation to hop on the monorail to Epcot!! Seeing spaceship earth first thing in the morning from the monorail is truly a magical experience!!

I live in Orlando and have stayed at all the monorail and Skyliner resorts. The Skyliner resorts are so much better than the monorail resorts.

I agree! I think the deluxe hotels should have all the transportations. Skyliners , monorails , and busses. That way you don’t have to bus on magic kingdom days or Hollywood studios day depending on what hotel your staying at. And they should go to AK.

I love the monorail it definitely has a place in my heart but I think I prefer the sky liner because the monorail only goes to 3 resorts and sky-liner goes to more resorts and resorts you can stay in that are more affordable then the 3 luxury resorts !

Comparing apples and oranges! The difference in price is Hugh! Frankly Pop Centry is perfect for me! I spend most of my time at Epcot anyhow!!

Ok we watched these videos and a few others where All ears tested transportation. We have to stay in a cheeper hotel so we can afford tickets. So I personally will stand in long lines to wait for skyliner and stay at Pop century or Art of animation.

I'm an old school Disneyland chick here and the skyliner also has quintessential retro Disney vibes. I remember riding the skyway through the Matterhorn during my childhood. It "flew" from. Tomorrowland to Fantasyland and back. It actually debuted in 1956, 3 years before the Monorail. Can't wait to ride it in February when we visit WDW!

I loved the sky liner! The views of the parks were incredible. My son liked the monorail.

For social distancing and hygienic reasons I totally prefer the gondolas 🚡 Disney did great with this. All the hotels have their charms it just goes with preference that’s all this shows lol

Aruba in the CBR was absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. The best part was walking less than five minutes to the skyliner next to the Riviera and also our bus stop for the other two parks. The internal bus system was fast and dependable, too. It is true that the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios took about twenty minutes. But for a flight for free to HS it was no problem!

I stayed at Caribbean Beach in October 2019 and had zero problems with the skyliner myself BUT I was in WDW still with the major breakdown! So that was freaky. I am staying again at CB for November 2021. Great video and helpful for my NEXT trip in 2023 haha

The split screen at the end gave me a scare. The Skyliner looked like it was turning the corner and the monorail was about to run into it until my brain realized it was a split screen. 😆

Honorable mention has to go to FWL with the boat to take you to MK. It's a great price point and there is so much to offer at that resort!

I'm still planning my vacation, and these are very helpful. I'd also like to see a Swan and Dolphin review. I know they're not Disney, but they have a teacher discount so I'm tempted to stay there.

Can’t believe Disney chose a gondola system for new transit😞 an automated light metro would run in storms have much greater capacity and be much safer.

Monorail for sure and with out a doubt, hands down best resort is Grand Floridian! I love the other 2 resorts and I get it, Chef Mickey's, Kona and Ohana are great, but they don't compare to Narcoossees, Citricos, GF cafe and Gasperilla's. Beautiful, timeless, elegant with 4 great spots to eat at.....it's our home resort for a reason.

The monorail is an absolute classic. Love it ! Haven't ridden the Skyliner yet, but hope to on our trip later this year. Also love the monorail resorts. BUT, the $64,000 question is in regard to check in at these resorts. What does everyone think is the best way to check in ? Is it better to use the convenience and speed of online check in? Or, do you have a chance of getting a better room location and/or some Disney Magic by checking in at the desk with a cast member ?

The lines for the skyliner goes a lot quicker than the lines for the old Magic Kingdom skyway that they used to have.

I would love this but I’m not sure this would work. They are friends, but AJ and her reporters want to keep their images anonymous to provide reviews of real experiences without special treatment.

the monorail IS disney transport. You can ride something like the skyliner at plenty of resorts around the country, but the disney world monorail is the only one in america like it.

Personally my favorite resort ever is the poly. Even though I don’t stay there often anymore due to the insane price these days, it is still my all time favorite hotel. And with young kids you can’t beat the combination of proximity to MK, easy access via monorails and boats, pools, theme and dining!! When budget is a big deal art of animation little mermaid rooms are great!! But my go to these days is actually French Quarter even though it’s a bus trans only resort

I've never liked "nostalgia" to be a main factor. Not fair to pick and choose when nostalgia is important. If this was the case, Small World and Dumbo should be rated higher than Rise of the Resistance. And I think we all know that this is not the case.

I simply do not believe the Yacht Club is a Skyliner resort. Your video said several times that it's "right on the Skyliner," which implies there's a stop there. The only way to access it is to walk to the International Gateway, and the only parks you can get to on the Skyliner are Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and why in the world would you do that? They're both walkable AND have the lovely and relaxing Friendship boats. Saying Yacht Club is on the Skyliner is misleading at best. Think about someone who's never been to WDW. Will they be disappointed by your review and claims?

Plus, the only deluxe Skyliner resort with an actual Skyliner stop is the Riviera. All the resorts on the monorail are deluxe.
