Disney World Food Tour: EVERYTHING To Eat At Saratoga Springs and Old Key West Resorts! 

I actually live in the real Saratoga Springs in upstate NY, Disney does a great job bringing in our history of Horse Racing and art in this resort. Great resort to stay or even visit! Awesome video AJ 😁

Old Key West = Home!

My family and I stayed at Old Key West last November for the first time. We absolutely loved it. Our first night there we had dinner at Olivia’s. It was an incredible experience! You are so right, AJ, when you say it’s so “homey”! We felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door. Definitely will be back to OKW. It’s a magical place!

Old Key West is my favorite of the resorts. It's actually right in the middle of everything, but feels like it's own little community. The vibe here is low key and relaxing, and cast members really do make guests feel like family. Olivia's Cafe serves a lot of Key West comfort food in a calm very quaint setting. Old Key West always makes guests feel right at home.

We ate at Olivia's twice last week...once for brunch and once for breakfast. I will never eat french toast without it being banana bread ever again! :P

We've stayed at saratoga springs many times (DVC member). I've never been to the Turf but my wife said it was very good. The Artist Palate was so-so. The big benefit to staying here is the easy easy access to disney springs. We always drive down and it has very easy access to parking.

Almost every time I’ve stayed at Disney (a lot of times) I’ve stayed at old key west. Only one time I stayed beach club resort but old key west is way better!

Stayed at OKW many years ago, before we were DVC members. Loved it then, and love it now. Also love Olivia"s. The onion rings are also yummy, and the breakfast potato casserole thing is to die for. Best place to stay if you're driving, though we never do, cause you park right outside your room. Don't tell anybody else how great it is...I want to be able to get a villa there whenever I want one. :)

Olivia's for breakfast is amazing! The absolute best breakfast dish my wife and I have ever had -- anywhere -- is the Conch Republic Omelet. Sadly, Olivia's has removed it from the menu, but when we last ate there we asked the waitress if it was possible to have it made. She checked with the chef and they made it for us!

Love love love OKW!! Been there 8 times in the last 18 years. It’s nice to have a break from the Disney saturation during the fun filled days! And space!!! Lots of it!!! With the ability to prep food in the villas, we only splurge at Olivia’s once a trip! Yum Yum! The pictures on the walls of past guests are so fun to examine!!

Stayed at Old Key West six years ago and had a wonderful time! The resort was so laid back with a much different vibe than other resorts I've stayed at in WDW. I realize that is due to the DVC aspect of the resort and I am not a DVC member. We had a two bedroom villa for six people and everyone had enough room and weren't crowded to get ready for the day at any point during our stay. Glad to hear that Olivia's is still a great place, my experience six years ago was much the same as what AJ described in the video. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Olivia's is my very favorite. I go every time I am at Disney.

I LOVE Old Key West! I grew up staying here with my family. Olivia's has great food and is usually never too crowded. The whole resort has it's own homey and country feel and the rooms are spacious. We stayed in the grand villa multiple times and it's gigantic! I think it's a great place to stay if you're visiting with a large group or have little kids. The only real downside is that it's far away from most of the parks. Now that I'm older and I visit with my friends, it makes more sense for us to stay at a central location resort like boardwalk. I'll always have a special place in my heart for OKW!

We are DVC members at Saratoga Springs and love the resort. Our experiences at the Turf Club have been very good. The Artist's Palette food selections and especially the bakery area have been excellent.

Saratoga Springs looks like a great resort! You make it look like a very promising destination! Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your reviews soon!

Love Old Key West Resort. Stayed there twice with my family on summer vacations. The villas/rooms are beautiful, clean and homey. One of the best things to do is wonder around the resort if people don't want to go to the Parks. Really enjoyed the food/restaurant options. And the cast members working here were and are some of the nicest people I've met at Disney World. Old Key West Resort gets my vote for one of the best Disney World locations! Two thumbs up!

Haven't been to either SSR or OKW in a LONG time (over 6 years!) but I always had great meals at the Turf Club, and thought it was a hidden gem - I would actually go out of my way to have a dinner there. Same thing with Olivia's - would make a special trip there at least once a trip, especially for breakfast. And like you said - comfortable, homey, wonderful staff!!

Love OKW! When I visit my Cast Member daughter we usually stay there a few days. Pro tip: the Deluxe Studios at OKW are a little larger, and they have 2 bed instead of one bed and a pull out couch. Great breakfast a Olivia’s: biscuits and gravy.

I agree with the folks on The Turf Club, we have been there 2 x's in the past 8 months and yes it was the best meal we had for each stay.

These resorts seem so relaxing compared to other Disney resorts! Really wanna stay there some day, maybe even become a DVC member :)

Turtle Crawl drink at OKW Gurgling Suitcase is awesome.....That bar needs to be larger...it is so small. Olivia's is a great place to dine...one of the best kept secrets on property.

I go to Olivia's for the Key Lime Tart, but always end up enjoying my entree as well! You can in fact walk to Disney Springs from OKW, and it's perfectly legit, but you have to know what you're doing. Unless you're looking for an adventure, just take the boat!

The wrap at Chip and Dales golf course snack stand was amazing!! Usually not a wrap fan but it had the right amount of meat, cheese, mayo and lettuce and was wrapped so well nothing came undone or spilled. Highly recommend!!

You CAN walk to Disney Springs from Old Key West. The canal path is very nice.

Banana bread french toast sounds great. Bread pudding french toast is pretty good too.

We loved Olivia's. On one of our stays, over Good Friday, and being Catholic, we wanted to get a nice seafood dinner. We were staying at PORFQ so we took the boat over (via then DTD). The dinner was awesome. We got some drinks after dinner and walked around the grounds. IT was a great evening.

We’re vacation club members at Saratoga Springs Resort and absolutely love it. Animators palette has great breakfast!!

During our trip to Disney in February 2018, we ate at the Turf Club and had a most excellent time. While I will say it is a little hard to find, the food, atmosphere and our server were all on point. My husband ordered the NY Strip and I had a pasta dish, and both were made to perfection. The quantity of food was also very large and filling. Our server Micheal was a pure delight and really added to the over-all experience. I highly suggest you give this place a second chance. PS. Love the channel and we are already planning our next trip in 2021, and will be using many of your recommendations on new places to try for all our meals.

I stayed at Saratoga springs when I went back in June. I loved it there, I thought it was a nice resort.

That omlette at Olivia's looks to die for. I am definitely adding that to my to eat list for breakfast because I'm not much of a pancake/waffle eater for breakfast!

Old Key West Resort is our DVC home resort since 1994. The resort does offer a studio room which is similar to your standard hotel room. During our stay, we usually eat at Olivia's about 3 times (breakfast and dinner). Olivia's is more laid back than other Disney restaurants. However, it does have an echo issue and can get extremely loud during peak times. Like you said, the breakfast potatoes are excellent. For dinner, their buttermilk fried chicken breast is very popular. My wife gets this all the time and loves it. I usually get a steak of some sort and it's a hit or miss. The key lime tart is excellent.

Old Key is one of my home resorts with DVC and one of the many reasons is Olivia's. Layed back, relaxed, great food, great service on a consistent basis. A hidden jem is correct, if you havent gone, go, its soooo worth it.

My family and I had a very good meal at the Turf Club last December. It was our first time there. We would definitely eat there again.

I've been wanting some beignets for AGES. Now, thanks to this video I know I can get a boat over to French Quarter from Disney Springs! So, my beignet dream might come true on my next trip in 18 days.

We definitely enjoyed strolling between OKW and Disney Springs last year! We accessed the path behind OKW building 55 and it probably took us about 20 minutes - the path kind of follows along the boat canal. Since it’s less developed than other paths (that is - it’s not a wide, paved, well-lit path) we found it was more enjoyable to take the boat back at night - but we loved being able to walk back and forth. :)

Turf club has always been good for me and the gang. I’ve owned at sss since 2006 and always go there at least once a trip. They made my favorite room next to walkway to Disney springs a preferred room now.

I had a great experience at Turf club. Service was slowish but they were very nice. Food was delicious.

This is the first of your videos that EVERYONE has agreed in the comments how they love these resorts & restaurants! We visited OKW & were upgraded from a studio to a 1 bed villa. This finally made us join DVC after years of debate. Olivia’s is lovely. We had slow cooked steak which came with tons of green beans. I was worried as DH really doesn’t like these but he ate the lot as they were so nice! DS didn’t want a dessert as he was full but our server insisted on giving him cookies to take away with him (we had DDP). DH & I had the Key Lime Pie. It was delicious so I questioned our server about the ingredients. In the end she told me to hang on a moment, then she brought Chef Brian to our table who talked me through the ingredients & then emailed the recipe to me!

You can actually walk from Old Key West to Disney Springs during the day. There’s a path from OKW to Saratoga Springs that’s open from dawn to dusk.

The Sandcastle Pool at OKW has a great slide. I’m a tall person andI like that it’s not a tube so I can go down it while sitting. I just find going down on my back uncomfortable.

At the Turtle Shack snack bar at OKW there is a buttermilk chicken sandwich. If you want some of that Olivia's fried chicken you might want to look into that. Be warned though: it's only open for lunch.

I've stayed at both resorts and had a great experience at both restaurants!

Old Key West was the first DVC resort I ever stayed in, before I became a member. (I was a member before I left though.) I remember having the Key Lime pie at Olivia's my first night. I couldn't finish it. The server asked if I wanted it wrapped up. I almost said no until I remembered that I was staying in a room that had a refrigerator!! (Back in 1990, most of the hotel rooms didn't.)

With the popularity of Disney Dining and advance dining reservations, Olivia’s is easy to get into last minute (or it was last time for me in 2016) and as others have said, worth the time it takes to get there. We usually take a boat from Disney Springs.

So glad that you saved the best for last. Since DVC rooms have their own kitchens, they have to be better than the ordinary restaurants in order to make members want to eat outside their place!

Hey AJ, will you be touring other parts of Disney Springs like the Marketplace and the West Side? I know that you've done the Landing, but have you done the other parts too?

Saratoga Springs hardly gets any love, Its my favt resort to go to when I'm at WDW.

Have stayed at Saratoga Springs several times and enjoyed breakfast at lunch at pool bars, especially in the Paddock. We generally head to Disney Springs or another resort for dinner. Never knew about Chip and Dale’s until your video. We are not golfers, so I am not sure where this is located. Near which building?

Turf Club - liked it, didn't love it. I would go back - it was good enough

If you follow the golf trail, by the South Point Bus stop at Old Key West it is possible to WALK to Disney Springs, however it took me an hour to reach Cirque Du Soleil, as it kinda pops up in the back of that parking lot and by that boat drop off. Not recommended for a quick trip to Disney Springs but if you wanna walk around and maybe spot a Bald Eagle along the river ( and wave to boats as they go by ) its a fun little walk.

Question??? If I am staying at Saratoga Springs resort can I take a boat or walk over to Port Orleans and get my favorite snack Mickey beignets? Also, do the boats that take resort guests from Disney Springs back to the resort do they also travel within the Disney Springs area a.k.a. other resorts Key West port Orleans Riverside etc. Thank you for any information in regarding to traveling by boat and visiting other resorts in this area… Without a dinner reservation. Thank you

Saratoga is my home base and I really like the theming but the food has always been kinda lackluster. OKW however never fails with the food

Olivia's used to participate in the Candlelight Processional dining package. Now it's All and Compass. Nothing wrong with Ale and Compass, but it's not Olivia's.

Old key west has a great restaurant but to stay here they don't have elevators for handicapped people.

AJ. I have watched many many of your videos. You are not dealing in reality! Disney food is overpriced crap. Let's not even mention the word healthy. We all have come to realize how the corporation gets away with this. Does the word captive audience mean anything to you? It does to them. They've got you and they know it. Substituting the words "magic" and "Mickey" doesn't make it right! I just don't think it is right for the corporation to rip people off by overcharging them the way they do.
