(DISOWNED)Everything Wrong With Charriii5’s EWW Sonic Unleashed 

It still boggles my mind how this game wasn't reviewed better when it launched. This game's amazing, and so many fans give it all the respect it deserves today. So what was with Sonic fans in 2008? Oh wait, because 06 sucked so hard. Also, in case anyone's wondering, the reason I didn't sin the audio change in Charriii's video is because not only am I being more lenient with editing since it's his second EWW, but he also had a pinned comment in his video saying that he got a copyright claim and had to replace some music which screwed over the audio. It's not his fault so I won't treat it as such.

Yeah I agree that the bracelet should've appeared in future games, it looks great on Sonic, plus I think it makes him stand out more amongst the other hedgehogs in the games. Unless he didn't take it with him wherever he goes so that way he doesn't risk the bracelet getting destroyed, then that's 100% understandable

i dont care what anyone says about Unleashed, its hands down one of the best games in the ENTIRE franchise in my opinion. Cant wait for this one :D

We have too many people depicting him as bad despite Sonic Boom and Rise Of The Wisps being his BEST acting as the character so far IMO. Now this, I've been looking forward to. People always hate on the Werehog in this game, and I will never understand the hate! I thought the Werehog was the second best part of the game. And if you wanna talk about the Medal system, I like it. It is a way to encourage exploration in this game. Besides I collected all the medals I needed from the Werehog stages alone. Unleashed is my favorite game of all time, and I will never stop defending it!!

No matter when people say about this game, Sonic Unleashed, Generations, and the Rush "trilogy" will always be the best Sonic games. Ah, I remember this be the first Charri video I watched as a naive kid. But, even as a kid, I questioned Charri sinning Sonic surviving deadly falls when even characters like Kirby and Mario go through the same stuff while fighting demonic gods. Mario and Dreamy Luigi/Luigi beat Antasma and Dreamy Bowser, who had a major power boost from the dream stone (admit it, without the time badge, the fight is actually kinda difficult, and flip Antasma and Antasma X especially), Sonic beat Perfect Chaos and with Blazes help,, the Egg Salamander, one of Eggmans strongest machines,, and Kirby recently bested a destroyer of worlds and the flipping ultimate life form, Elfilis (even when Efflis gets like way stronger with Chaos Elfilis, Kirby STILL beats him, and this is canon). Falling like 10,000 feet from the sky is pretty much their routine 🤣

“So a voice actor can’t play more than one character this happens all the time” Tony buddy that wasn’t what he was saying what he was saying is that it’s ok for a voice actor to do more than one character they just can’t make it obvious like Dan green in sonic 06 or Jason Griffith in all games from rush to black knight or even Ryan Drummond in heroes and adventure 2 so the voice actress for tails giving this kid the exact same voice as tails is way to obvious

Sonic Unleashed was my first Sonic game... i know that the ps2 version is not the best, but i had as much fun as i had with Pokemon Fire Red, Charriii's 2nd EWW... it did not aged aswell as i thought it did, and he was even more nitpicker back then i see, anyways, Great video as always, continue the good work, hope you get recognized by Charriii, can't wait for the next video :)

Playing this game on an Xbox Series console with FPS Boost enabled feels a lot more pleasant than playing it on 360. I mean, come on, it's 60fps in a demanding 360 game running on a beast of a console (X more so than S, of course)! What's not to like? The boost formula and the beat-em'-up gameplay styles both look fun to me from what I've played. I need to keep playing this game, but that's not gonna stop me from looking forward to this video.

That's nice, but just to be safe I need to address some things for the sin: -Chariii5 said that Sonic should be happy that he finally got rid of Amy, but in the Rivals video (Where he forgot that Eggman Nega still holds Amy's card) he said that "She may be annoying, but she's still your friend" and Branrich said in his Adventure video, where Sonic lost Amy inside of Twinkle Park, "I don't see how losing Amy was a problem" -When Professor Pickle's assistant said that an old man with a huge pack of robots (At least that's what I remember him saying) took the professor, Chariii5 said "Good thing you mentioned the robots. Someone could've deduced it's Santa Claus without that description". Then when Sonic said, "That sure sounds like Eggman", Chariii5 answered, "And Santa Claus if the robots were elves" and gave it a sin. -When Tails said that Sonic can travel to Spagonia with HIS Tornado-1, Chariii5 said that the Tornado-1 is Sonic's. But the Tornado-1 crashed, and Tails just recreated it. For what purpose, you may ask? *shows tornado-1 turning into battle mode* -When Professor Pickle complained about his sandwich, Chariii5 says that he should be thankful he's getting fed at all. Obviously, "Chariii5 sins characterizations" cliche. -Also, this video has a handful of pop culture refs regarding The Avengers.

I played a little bit of the XBOX 360 version of Sonic Unleashed. I did played the entire wii version of Sonic Unleashed.

Yeah, my biggest pet peeve with Charriii's Sonic Unleashed video was that he really underestimates Sonic's durability (and really tries to ground not just Sonic but Mario with real world physics, thinking high falls from space should kill them when that's pretty much nothing to them).

Unleashed is such an underated gem! It was a huge part of my childhood and is by far my second fave sonic game. My no. 1 would have to be frontiers

To explain the 'character should be great at Cinema Sins,' it's basically when a character in universe takes the words out of the person sinning the narrative, which means Charriii agrees with something, but just like 70% of everyone else who does these videos, he still adds a sin for the character basically speaking for him. Even if I paid attention to someone else's explanation, I would still get lost over how that's a sin.

These videos really make me realize how bad Chariii's early videos were, but at the same time it makes me appreciate his new stuff. It felt like he was copying cinemasins way more in these early ones and that resulted in a lot of the very large issues I have with CS carrying over to him, but he lacks their production value so it's even worse.

And I actually loved the Werehog from the beginning One fun fact I know is that the game manual actually explains WHY Sonic turned into the Werehog: When Eggman split the planet open, Dark Gaia’s energy and the Chaos Emeralds’ energy got nicked together. And since Sonic was so close to the Emeralds when it happened, he got infected with some of Dark Gaia’s energy

3:23 I’d just like to point out that, for someone going into this game blind, this minor exposition from Eggman gives a perfect explanation for what just happened. When I went into this, I wasn’t confused at all. A little confused at what happened to Sonic, but I just assumed that the reason that happened was because he was connected to the Emeralds during the process (which is actually right, alongside him getting infused with Dark Gaia’s essence). Also, this is actually my favourite game, so when I saw Charriii’s video about it, I was mad. How could someone criticize perfection like this!? Yeah, I was petty back then.

Even though I haven't played this game, I could tell that Charriii's EWW on it was pretty bad. The fact that you gave 10 sins for pop culture references proves that. Also, I'm excited for the Sonic songs video.

Where do I start with this game? There’s so much I love about this game from the intro cutscene to the OST. The daytime stages are really fun to speed through and see how fast you can beat them. And the nighttime stages provide a chance to slow down and explore the locales and look for secrets. I know some people hate the werehog and the hub-worlds, but I really like them. Despite the game being over a decade old, it still looks really nice. And while the story takes a back seat for most of the adventure, I still really like it, and Chip’s a great character in my opinion. These reasons are why Sonic Unleashed is my favorite 3D Sonic game. And yes I like both the X360/PS3 and the Wii/PS2 versions, although the HD version is definitely better. (You may have noticed I’ve been going to several videos and writing comments. I’m a relatively new viewer so I’m going back to older videos and writing my thoughts/opinions on the videos or the games in the videos.) Edit: 7:58 I don’t know, I found the joke pretty funny.

I love unleashed. It's one of my favorites in the entire franchise along with generations and colors. Most of the levels are awesome and I really like the werehog parts and night combat as well. EVEN THOUGH I DESPISE EGGMANLAND WITH A PATION

As someone who played Sonic Unleashed for the first time, it's not particularly hard and the cutscenes were so good at the time. The only thing that rubbed me off was how challenging the mechanics were for Werehog Sonic, regular Sonic wasn't bad whatsoever since I played Generations. The quick time events weren't bad, but very suspenseful, and I understand why since there's nothing wrong with a quick time event to pay more attention. I just really wished they changed the Boss fight for the Xbox version. I'm not familiar with the stages anymore since it's been a while, but I did have fun with the majority of the game, aside from the Eggman land stage, it was hell, and I tried 30 times til I managed. The final boss when heading to the eyes were not so bad, but you really need pay attention in the final boss, otherwise you hear Chip saying the same thing, that's why the "skill tree" is there for a reason. Overall, I would give it an 85/100 at best, I would give it 90, if it weren't for the final boss, the shadows not being as useful, and the werehkg mechanics.

18:28 The Emerald that changes size in Sa2 is the Master Emerald, and because Knuckles is the Guardian of the Master Emerald, he can change it's size at will for easy containing and traversal. The Chaos Emeralds have never shown to have the ability to change their own size (and now, with Frontiers giving us lore on the Emeralds, we know that the Chaos and Master Emeralds aren't connected in origin [and yes, I know this video came out before Frontiers came out but I believe the point still stands]).

Roger could be so amazing he really needs a good script hopefully frontiers can deliver, and yeah I know he's great and boom but I mean a good script for an epic Sonic game with lines that really stick just like how Jason and Ryan are remembered, hell we've yet to even get the iconic "I'm sonic, sonic the hedgehog!" from him unless I'm forgetting something but still until proven otherwise Jason is still the goat

Unleashed is hands down my favourite Sonic game next to Rush, the gameplay is fun, the graphics and visuals are amazing and the story is one of the best we've ever got in a sonic game. I understand where the hate and criticism comes from but some people are to harsh on it especially when it comes to the Werehog. I personally don't mind the Werehog levels, yeah they can be long and a bit tedious but I find them fun. The only real criticism I have with game is the medal collecting as it can be very annoying when you need like 30 of them to continue the game because you missed the rest due to how fast paced and fun the game is, so yeah it's annoying when a game about speed and action has you slow down to collect stuff. Other than that I love it and will always have a place in my heart.

It's weird how in Sonic Advance 3 the earth is split in 7 pieces just like in Unleashed but Dark Gaia and Light Gaia don't Appear for some reason

Fun fact: sonic unleashed and i were both brought into the world back in 2008.

To be fair, even if Sonic flies to the outer reaches of space, we can’t even be sure THAT would kill him, he could just land on another planet, he can breathe in space so lack of a completely breathable atmosphere wouldn’t kill him, reentry wouldn’t kill him since falling to Sonic’s World as a far more flammable version of himself didn’t even scratch him, so even if he gets flung to the outer limits of space, most likely the only real issue would be locating and retrieving him. Also, with regards to the ‘ow’ sin, the REAL issue is the fact that he took falling from space with Ho injuries or pain sounds, but falling from maybe half that nets an ow? I don’t buy it. Also, with regards to babe, I feel it’s worth mentioning that Sonic games are marketed towards kids, who shouldn’t really be using, and therefore hearing, words like babe and broad, whereas this content, and by proxy your content, are made for an older audience, seeing as you shouldn’t really be on the website itself if you’re under 13, making those pushing the line jokes are more acceptable since teenagers and older on average do make those kinds of jokes. With regards to getting caught by the Chaos Energy Cannon’s energy restriction field, we’ve only seen it capture stuff from a horizontal level, so it’s possible that it only works at a horizontal level, since with that type of technology, it should make a ‘field’ of restriction, not just a ring, since you can’t be too sure he won’t dodge, just in case it shouldn’t have been a whole dome or field of energy. Which brings us to the point that he’s not just Sonic, but Super Sonic, even if he’s distracted or caught off guard, even normal Sonic had insanely good reflexes, and therefore Super should have even faster reflexes, so he should at least have been able to get off the floor, even were he unable to do anything to the field, seeing as his most natural attack is not a grounded one. You could bring up Knuckles, but he was completely hidden and untraceable, until the moment he attacked, while Sonic was going quite fast so it would have even a second to dodge or change direction at that speed, as well he struck from below, while this Cannon came from all directions and had a startup time, so he had every opportunity to get anywhere even, most optimally towards Eggman since he’s always the one with the controls and everything, so there’s no point in even looking around since you KNOW Eggman has the ability to turn off these contraptions and you always focus on him. And the Chip line, that’s not a matter of ‘ah whoops a spelling mistake I’ve been hired to make sure doesn’t happen darn’ that’s a matter of either the VA didn’t read the script enough or they made the mistake and didn’t do any sort of retake, or the VA said the line correctly and the script-writers put it into the game wrongly somehow, which either way is a fair bit more trifling than a simple spelling error or punctuation mistake. And the more heinous of all, when Sonic reaches from the ice-cream, the sin is not that Sonic has stretchy arms or that he has stretchy arms because of Dark Gaia, but the fact that we don’t know that, and we haven’t played as the Werehog yet I think, so he doesn’t know that, so he saw it fall and just reached out normally going ‘ice cream noooo’ without anyway of knowing he could do any body manipulation and then perfectly stretching the perfect amount and retracting without destroying anything perfectly, and you expect me to believe that an ice cream would stay perfectly still in its cone when it’s falling? No, that’s just something that doesn’t happen, no matter how cartoony your world is, it’s just a fact of life. Anyway, you’re really churning these out huh? Don’t overwork yourself or experience any type of burnout, and if you do, make sure to take a break immediately for as long as you need, don’t worry. Stay well and all that, and keep up the good work and all.

Sonic Unleashed is my favorite 3D Sonic game, if Sonic Frontiers is actually good, then that may become my favorite, but until then I love Sonic Unleashed. I love traveling the planet, I love the whole werehog thing, I love the final battle, I love everything about this game!

I never understood the hate for Unleashed it's graphical the best Sonic game and still holds up lookwise even today. It's controls are smooth depending on the console and I never did understand the hate for the Werehog. Unless your Werehog is underleveled or your just bad at the game you can beat every werehog level in 5-10 minutes. The story isn't too dark but it does set the stakes well enough and doesn't try to be edgy like Forces or childish like Colors. Eggmanland is an extremely unfair evel but it makes sense Sonic Unleashed is the hardest Sonic game so it would naturally have the hardest conclusion and after repeat trys it becomes a joke (just look at a speedrun of Eggmanland). Sonic Unleashed has an amazing soundtrack and I to this day think Endless Possiblties is a better theme than Live and Learn. The final boss is underwhelming but serves its purpose and the medal collecting is tedious at best and insufferable at worst. I think Sonic Unleashed is an overall 8.5/10 it definitely didn't deserve the hate it got all those years ago but it's not an untouchable masterpiece.

Pretty sweet game in all and it introduced a new style of gameplay.

If there's one Sin I'll always give the game, it's for using the term Werehog. "Were" is "man" in Old English. Sonic's already a hedgehog man. Despite not rolling off the tongue as much, Lycanhog works better.

OMG YES UNLEASHED FINALLY THE ACTUAL BEST 3D SONIC GAME IMO, sorry people not SA2. But yeah this game is awesome, but its the Crash 4 of Sonic as in completion, and HOW DOES THE INTRO CUTSCENE LOOK SO GOOD YOU'RE TELLING ME IT WAS MADE IN 2008 (same year of birth funnily enough) and also Eggmanland, no no scratch that THE HOT DOG MISSIONS!!!

I think Sonic unleashed is pretty fun, the boost stages are great, and I think the werehogs fun too, I don't really see why nathaniel bandy called it mindless button mashing (referring to his video on it) when there's more to it than meets the eye, you can unlock combos by leveling up the combo system, and the QTEs test your reflexes (they can be negated by simply pausing the game and reading what buttons you have to press), one thing i didn't like however, is that you have to collect sun and moon medals to progress through the game, it actually wasn't a big issue for me until I got to jungle joyride day where I had to collect 27 sun medals which is way too much, I'm also not particularly a fan of eggman land and the final boss, the former being for reasons said by others and the latter's 3rd phase with the Gaia colossus being too hard Overall I think sonic unleashed is great, a solid 8.1/10

It’s hilarious that the only thing you agreed with him on is that Sonic didn’t keep Chip’s Bracelet! 😅 But I am going to say for the moments when Tails is flying that just because it looks safe, doesn’t meant it is. For example just because you’re on an empty highway going 60 and not in danger of hitting any cars, you never know what might pop up.
