I remember being at a party and we was playing Halo with 4 player split screen and we had 2 pairs of boxing gloves for when things got aggressive, we would have a punch up then shake hands and continue to play XD
II ALV II it really isn’t that great, and this is coming from someone with a huge amount of nostalgia for the game. The campaign gameplay is ok, with a lot of cheap bullshit like halo 2 (but not nearly as bs). The story is pretty decent, but the retcons for the fall of reach are fucking awful. The multiplayer was made shit by the introduction of loadouts (uneven starts), armor abilities (movement speed and jump height was altered so they could be included, having a very large effect on how combat works), and bloom (introducing a large amount of rng to each shot. The map design for every game mode is lazy, reusing maps from other game modes, though it still is pretty decent map design. The sandbox removed way too much stuff from halo 3, like dual wielding, equipment, and a lot of weapons, grenades, and vehicles. They do not have much reason to get rid of most of them, and they do not make up for it with enough new things. The only improvements from halo 3 is the customization, firefight, forge, and custom games. It is ok to like the game, and some of the things I mentioned aren’t even bad on their own, but this level of change definitely makes it an objectively bad halo game. Not an objectively bad game, mind you, but an objectively bad halo game. I still love it though.
