Great video, I've always wanted to try reverse osmosis water since it strips the minerals like distilled but it removes chemicals fluoride and other chems that distilled doesn't. Water filtration is a real science!

@@scotthendricks79 I’ve never tried reverse osmosis water. I’ve used deionised water and that’s fine for gilding too

I've seen a lot of instructions where they say "use distilled water" and I knew it was better, but I didn't realize that regular water had so much crap in it. Thanks for the video.

Good post ... as you know I'm older than dirt and was an art teacher. Even in water colour painting I would tell students to use distilled water. I remember a teacher in the 60's telling use we could us rain water... never gave that a try with collection issues.... Distilled water...Good point mate.

Cheers Ken! Apparently rain water isn’t good to use because of what it picks up in the air. You’d probably have to use rain water from the Amazon 😄

Hi Paul hope your well , having real Problems with uneven cloudy guilds just can’t get to the bottom of it…I’m using de ironised water cleaning the glass properly numerous times to a squeaky clean finish the right gelatine mix etc as recommended but still the gold just isn’t clean it had a smear to it when dry and ideas? Thanks

Never thought about distilling my own water - been buying it! Once you distill, how long is that water good for? Also...screen printing screens in the background there 👀👀

As long as you store it in an air tight bottle, distilled water is good forever as long as far as I know. I’ve had that distiller for about 3 years and it’s awesome. The screen printing video is on my list, but it’s going to be a long one so need to buy a load of kit and prepare it. Hopefully get it out before Christmas 😎🍻
