I recently bough the same backhoe mine doesn’t seem like it has much power digging. The ground is really dry and hard in Tx right now but I still expected it to have more power. It’s had a very hard time digging a 1 foot deep hole to set a cattle guard. It’s full of hydraulic fluid, anything else I should check.
change your hydraulic filters, there is a screen inside the trans also. The screen you could gust clean. Their are videos on the screen removal. Hope that helps.
I'm not sure what year it is but I think late 70s. I think you have to decode the serial number on the front right of the tractor, just above the front tire. I think its the 8th digit and you can look it up on John Deere's website or call.
