If you guys are ever south of Gasden off Hwy 431 look up Hollingsworth Rd. It will be on the left traveling south, right going north, Huge rock Quarry called the Blue Hole. Used to be a dive school there but closed many years ago. My Dad says he remembers when he was a little boys seeing earth moving machinery so far down in the quarry that they looked like matchbox cars! It had just a little steel gate bar that you can hop over and go take a look, very cool indeed. Bluest water I’ve ever seen!
I'm 7 years too late, but it's Smith lake. Largest lake in Alabama. It's located in Cullman alabama, but you can access the lake through several cities along the line because it's so large.
