Divorcing the GOOD GUY; one woman says she's proud of women that do it

Hey Guys! Today I'm reacting to a video of a woman that says she's divorced twice from "good guys". She believes it's okay to divorce the good guy if there are problems in the relationship and the woman is not happy. She even says she's PROUD of women that do it....could you imagine if a man said the same thing about a man divorcing a good woman?!? Let's talk about it...

I was talking to someone I had the intentions of dating. She told me her ex husband got pancreatic cancer and stopped trying. Because of that, she divorced him. The conversation ended there. It made me sick hearing her justifying leaving a guy when he was close to receiving a death sentence.

The notion of a flawless marriage or relationship is a myth. There's no set formula for success; what works for one couple may not work for another. Yet, I've discovered that there's always a way forward, even in the most challenging times. Five years ago, my wife and I encountered significant hurdles in our marriage that nearly led to divorce. Despite the adversity, we managed to weather the storm and emerge from it with our bond renewed and revitalized

Well, and even the statistics are against the likelihood of her remaining married. In fact, the more divorces, the higher the chance she'll divorce again. I haven't seen the statistic, but quoting from Forbes: "So, what about the famous statistic that half of all marriages end in divorce? That’s true, but only when it comes to first marriages, half of which are dissolved. Second and third marriages actually fail at a far higher rate." From Psychology Today, there was a 67% chance that her 2nd marriage was going to fail (which it did) and a 73% chance that her 3rd marriage will fail. Given her nonchalance, it will fail. Then, of course, she'll sit on social media all day, and complain about "where have all the good men gone?" Well, you divorced them, honey.

This was my story. I gave a woman the best years of my life, never thought of cheating, never raised a hand to her, and rarely even raised my voice to her. I realize now that the woman I thought she was never existed. She had been SAed by her father for years as a child, and therefore had no idea what a real relationship was. I found out about the SA, fully supported her challenge to overcome things, and denied myself so she could "get better," feeling that once that was accomplished then she'd be able to back me up in the things I wanted to work on. When she, with the backing of her therapist, served me with divorce papers I was dumbfounded. I have yet to trust a female again. Word to the wise: Guys, MAKE SURE of her history BEFORE you wed her. I would probably have still gotten involved because I was blinded by her at the time, but had I known how crazy she was due to the SA, I might have had second thoughts.

Similar story. Ex had been SA by her dad. Didn't find out about it til we'd been married 8 years. Certainly explained a lot about her: the controlling nature, the emotional distance, the skittishness around physical intimacy, etc. I tried to be supportive, she tried therapy, but in the end, she was who she was. As a younger man, I had no idea as to just how much it effs up someone to have been SA. When I got divorced at 50 and started dating, I was astounded at the number of women out there that had been SA. Granted, there's sampling bias (i.e. non-SA women have a much higher probability of not being in the dating pool at 50), but probably a third to maybe as much as half of the women I dated post-divorce had been SA.

Most of the women I have known who sometimes wear a ring to look like they are taken seem to do this thinking it is some sort of a deterrent Wearing a ring on the left ring finger can act as a deterrent for those who may be interested in starting a romantic relationship. It can help avoid uncomfortable or unwanted advances from others. While it’s important to note that wearing a ring does not guarantee that someone will not approach, it can serve as a visual cue that may discourage potential suitors.

Advice to young men. This is psychopathic behavior. She never loved the guy but she wanted something he could provide. Once her need is fulfilled, she will want you to change/ improve to compensate for that drop in "attraction". If you cannot, people don't change easily, she will feel validated in leaving. Bill, your question is part of the problem. Who cares what women want? They need to be concerned with what a man wants and about pleasing him. More men need to realize this. Keep her busy worrying about keeping him happy and most of the b.s. disappears.

I’d like to investigate this woman more. She may be a narcissist, that was my experience. I married the supposed woman of my dreams and was the good man and perfect husband yet she got bored and cheated on me. After some exhausting research I figured out she had all the ear marks of a covert narcissist and my experience was right in line with their behavioral cycle. I’m still dealing with trying to finalize the divorce that she asked for after leaving me for another man. It’s been 8 months and she is in a world of hurt, no longer with her man, lost her job and apparently got another, financially on the brink of ruin and miserable as hell from what I understand. I have virtually no contact with her unless absolutely necessary. This is one possibility for this woman, anyone who’s familiar with a narcissistic partner will understand. It’s incredibly devastating and I wish this hurt on no one. I absolutely love your videos and as a 52 year old “good man” who has my shit together financially and stays in physically good shape, I wish that all women would watch you and take your advice. You are spot on when it comes to men even though I’m a bit older than your target demographic.

My Ex was eventually diagnosed with a Borderline Personality Disorder, part of that behavior is narcissism, and I now consider her to have been my emotional rapist in the relationship. I too have no contact with my Ex, I consider her to be to toxic for me. And I, like you, thought she was such a wonderful and caring person that I couldn't wait to marry her. The stress of raising children was the trigger that first reveled the true personality behind that mask of kindness. Stress caused her to loose control of her emotions to the point that she would physically abuse the oldest, most active and difficult to deal with, child. And then she would blame it on that less than 2 year old child for being so "difficult" and myself for not being there to prevent it. Nothing was ever her fault, she could always find a way to believe herself to be the victim. A behavior that eventually expanded to everything in the relationship.

Divorce should be rare, if he/she is physically abusive, repeatedly cheating on you ok. Because you don’t agree on a specific issues, you need to get to know them before you say I do.

I'm a man and I initiated the divorce with my ex-wife. In general she is good person, but I divorced because she had to be the main character and all the goals and focus had to be on what she wanted. I voiced what I wanted for us and our future, but it fell on deaf ears.

When I tell you I'm 67 and exactly the same, you'll despair. I didn't get married until 44, when I met a woman online in the old AOL and Prodigy chat rooms. She flew to me to meet. She'd been twice divorced, but in spite of a 73% chance of our marriage not working, it did; for 20 years until she passed in 2016. We had corresponded online for a year before we met, which gave us a chance to really get to know one another, and to me, that's key. I would not do it again. I do miss her company, however, in many ways, she was a typical woman, including the fact that she had a spending problem. That is, she had no problem spending, and left me $11K in debt. That was on one credit card. The thing is, and women hate this, is that men can be alone, without being lonely. Women can't be alone without being lonely. It drives them crazy. Okay, it's more like a short putt, but you know what I mean. Work on yourself, find your peace, and understand that at your age, you only need a woman for one thing. It's not cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, or anything else. Be suspicious of any woman who shows any interest in you. I was, even in the 20s and in peak physical shape, a 5. I have no illusions. If a woman expresses interest in either of us, she's a gold digger. Women scoff at that, saying "y'all ain't rich enough to have any gold to dig," but trust me. I made mid-6 figures when I was working, and mid-5 figures in retirement. No matter what they say, they'll take what they can get and move on to the next poor sucker. Don't be that guy.
