This video is pure gold. I have searched far and wide for “ can I move my city water inlet in my rv “ with no luck. The videos are just about replacing the existing one, not relocating or installing a brand new one. My 2006 TT is permanently placed & even plummed into the property septic system with an actual house toilet. I appreciate the realistic humor about the leak and getting it right the first time. I learn all my DIY stuff from RU-vid and the amount of trips back to the hardware store in the same day is almost embarrassing sometimes 😂 Thank you got the clear visuals too. I hope you have more RV DIY informational videos in the future thank you again!

Hey, thank you so much! I'm glad I'm not the only one that makes multiple trips to the hardware store in the same day! I'm hopefully gonna be making more videos soon, 'cause I gotta get this other camper finished up and off my to do list. Thanks again, and good luck on your project!

I like your attitude about expecting leaks from the start! I make the mistake that it'll be perfect and then I get mad when I find all the leaks...

Ha ha, I've never done anything perfectly, but if it looks like I ever do, remember it's all in the editing!

I first put a little ac low down like that, it weirdly did almost nothing to cool, i hope it works for you

The cooling ability of these units depends a lot on the ability to intake cool exterior air and to then exhaust hot air back to the exterior; the fewer restrictions imposed upon these things the better. Mounting the unit higher up on the interior of the camper will help with cooling the inside since cool air sinks, but an oscillating fan set in front of the unit can help out a lot. It worked well the few times we used it with the additional fan, and the new owners of the camper have said they only problem they have with it is in full sun on a hot day.

Hey mate we all make mistakes at some time in our lives. So long as we learn from them, that's the important thing. I love the stickers but I don't do Instagram, plus I'm in Australia so I won't be putting one on my car or van. Keep the great videos coming.
@TrailerTrashtoTreasure
@TrailerTrashtoTreasure Год назад
Are you not allowed to put stickers on your car in Australia?
@jennyleef1775
@jennyleef1775 Год назад
@@TrailerTrashtoTreasure yes we are allowed to put stickers on our car. I just thought postage would be a bit high. I know our overseas postage costs, even for a letter are a bit high. I love watching your progress as you do the vans/trailers and I have contemplated doing a city hook-up for our van along with the original old hand pump that's in the van already. So seeing you do yours has prompted me to see if hubby wants to do it or not. Obviously I would be helping. :)

Really, adding the city water inlet was maybe one of the easiest parts of the whole water system to do, and I don't really know why I didn't add it in the first place. Postage isn't that bad, if you want to email us an address where we can send it I'll get it in the mail: info@lamphousephotoco.com

Is there a way to switch back and forth from city water to an onboard tank? I don't always camp where there is a water source and would like to be able to do both. Your channel is so helpful and enjoyable! Thanks.

Yes, and I realize after re-watching the video that I didn't really make that clear. Basically you need a way to prevent the pump from pumping water out through the city water inlet when you use your onboard water tanks. So the easy thing to do is to either add a cutoff valve or a one-way check valve on your city water inlet line, or alternatively you could just get a cap that screws securely to your city water inlet to prevent any water coming back out of it. The one-way check valve would be the simplest solution. Thanks for watching!

Great video! Where did you find that black drain pipe for your sink? I looked all over for it and had to use braided rubber hose (very expensive).
@TrailerTrashtoTreasure
@TrailerTrashtoTreasure Год назад
Thanks! It came with the drain assembly that I ordered off of Amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B000EDUTPO?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

So the other side of the water pump attaches to a fresh water can somewhere and will pump that when you're off grid?
@TrailerTrashtoTreasure
@TrailerTrashtoTreasure Год назад
Yes! The inlet side of the water pump goes to whatever your supply is (a jerry can in my case, but it could be a permanently installed fresh water tank). The check valve in the water pump stops the city water from back feeding into your fresh water tank, so that means you also need a separate method of filling the fresh water tank. It's really pretty simple to set up once you get all your necessary connectors.
