this was so helpful, very easy project and saved me so much money. thank you! I recommend replacing with OEM parts if you wan to go back to a brand new car feel and it will last much longer. I'll keep and eye out for the 2 other mounts if MCM does them. Hope to get another 200K out of my 2013.

I think this mount is actually called the transmission mount, EDIT: just seen a comment already stating that,, sorry! Btw Im in the process of changing the oil pan to a 2014 accord ex, Unfortunaltry there arent ANY videos showing how to do this. I downloaded the service manual but its wording with very little pictures to actually show whats going on,, I have to remove the transmisson mount and I was wondering how to get to it, thanks to your video I know how to remove it, Now I have to figure out how to remove read engine mount,, because I have to lift the engine and transmission just to remove the damn oil pan... boy oh boy this is gonna be a very long replacement.. Btw its my sister car, she hit a big rock while driving and it made a huge hole in the oil pan, all the oil came out! thanksfully she pulled over fast before the -engine locked up!. again thanks for the video!!!

Good Luck! We do plan on making a video for the rear mounts. I agree the service manual isn't always the greatest. Cheers!

Just a tip. I would remove the stabilizer bar on top of engine bay to have more room.Other than that it’s a great video.

It’s only tough because you put to much pressure one the bottom with the jack you half way kinda see the car lift up some

Hey car guy. Are you able to remove the center bolt on the aluminum bracket and then the three for the mount itself? Then you would be able to slide the mount out and reuse the aluminum bracket. This way you would avoid moving electrical components.
@MobileCarMechanic
@MobileCarMechanic Год назад
It should be possible. I removed the bracket as the mount that was purchased included one.
@aim6613
@aim6613 Год назад
It's possible to remove it, but sliding it back in to align the wholes for the screws is difficult. The bracket puts a lot of tension on the mount. Instead of worrying about stripping the threads I removed the bracket as well, since it's not too much work.

I replaced all 5 of my mounts and it somehow got worst, at idle and at a stop in drive or reverse the vibrations are horrible, way more noticeable than before replacing them. driving on the other had feels a lot better. I think that the issue is the aftermarket rear mount and the lower trans mount. I highly recommend leaving the old rear and lower trans alone or get oem ones that are hella expensive.
@MobileCarMechanic

Thanks for the reply. Haven’t done the rears yet but may still make a video on them just to show how to replace them. That’s interesting as the mounts that have been replaced so far have made a difference. Was this right after you installed them or over time?
@AccordzDIY
@AccordzDIY Год назад
@Mobile Car Mechanic it was right after replacing them, I put about 50 miles on them to see if they would break in some, but no difference. I'm gonna have to put my two old ones back in.

Also, I had started up the car before doing those 2 last ones just to feel how it improved, and it felt great

Great video - thanks for taking the time to do this. My 2014 accord sport vibrates when placing the car in reverse - would this be a sympton of a bad mount?
@MobileCarMechanic

Bad Mounts can cause Vibrations in reverse or drive.

Ours came with the bracket so we decided to use it but it isn’t necessary to change it.

@@MobileCarMechanicdoes the 40 ft lb apply to both 14mm & 17mm? Sorry I’ve gone through the video 3 times trying to see if you mentioned torque spec :/ until I found this comment! Also thank you for being the ONLY video on RU-vid showing how to replace this upper transmission mount on 4cyl 9th gen accords! Literally have been scouring forums and videos and you are the ONLY one so I appreciate the time you take helping educate us!

@@MobileCarMechanic Hey just wanted to add that after my original comment, I continued to scour the web and after a few different variations and wordplay I was able to find one instance of this upper transmission mount being mentioned. They were kind enough to add the installation manual taken directly from tech info. In it states everything you’ve shown in the video. Since my point was to find more clarification on the torque spec, the following is what the manual says to do. It states to attach the transmission mount with the entire assembly (as you’ve shown), then you loosely install the upper transmission mount bracket bolts (3 bolts on the bracket), and you tighten the transmission mount bolts (3 bolts closest to driver side wheel) to 40 lb ft. You then lower the vehicle back down and remove the wooden block from the transmission. At this point it states you can now tighten the upper transmission mount bracket bolts to 44 lb ft. It seems you followed exactly what the manual states. Hopefully this comment will help anybody who is more technical when it comes to torque specs like me and thanks again for all you do educating us with your videos!

I have a soft clunk on start up on my 14 accord... It had the vtc grind when I got it a couple of years ago,, so I replace the cam gear but it didn't eliminate the bump I get ... seems a little worse when it's cold but it's noticeable even when warm. Could this be the upper tyranny mount or do I need to remove it to inspect it?
@MobileCarMechanic
@MobileCarMechanic Год назад
It sounds like a mount for sure. I’d run your engine and have some one press the gas pedal on and off and see if the motor moves. Look for any cracking or sagging where the mount is.

This needs to be done on my 2013 v6. Trying to get the scumbag dealer to do it is a pain. I have an extended warranty with Honda. When I shift the car into drive or reverse in the morning, I get an extreme vibration throughout the car. Especially in cold weather.
@MobileCarMechanic
@MobileCarMechanic Год назад
That’s a bummer. I’d keep pushing it or try to goto another dealer if you can that accepts the warranty. I’ve not done this on the V6 models. I imagine it’s not that much different.
