Nice idea - tried it! But.. The heat sink of this metal (aluminum?) is quite limited, so the handle quickly becomes too hot to handle.. So - hard to gauge if you are getting it hot enough to be reliably sterile without it being to hot to touch! But keep the ideas coming!

Have you had a pretty consistent sterile sample's using this method?

I have some MEA pre mixed agar powder coming from Amazon,the closest pressure cooker is at my mother in laws and it’s the ninja air fryer that has the built in PC as well,problem is it only gets up to 12 psi so I’m wondering can I steam sterilize these in foil like my brf jars,or even a microwave on low setting for 10 minutes? I’ve been told yes due to the liquid being easier for heat to pass through? Or should I risk taking them back and forth to my mother in laws house and just bring a sanitary tote with me to immediately store them in once cool and ready,then drive back home with them? I live about 5 minutes away. I have the ketchup cups and stuff that is PP5 rated so I should be fine to do it with steam or microwave? I’m just worried that since it’s not pure agar and mixed already with malt powder that it will be more dirty and harder to sterilize? Thoughts?
