Very greatful for the video mate. About to build my own based on your instructions here and the blog. Hope you'll be back one day to create more content. I know how it is, but yeah. Thanks a lot man.
If you're watching this just buy grow tents they are easy to take apart and put up so you could move warehouses if you need to also no need for modifications to the warehouse or garage
Hey, just wanted to say thank you for your video (and Meyers mushrooms video as well have to mention Eric Meyers too!) I made a sterilizer using your instructions as a loose guide! I learned many new skills building this, and I have it up and running now! Cheers many times!
thank you so much for calling this a home made HEPA filter, as opposed to a laminar flow hood. This is an honest name for what this is. Btw, H14 is the HEPA rating for the filter. H indicating HEPA, and 14 is the level of filtration. Also, you made me giggle with your "giggity" 🤣
i dont think you will get the full effects of lions mane like this. As far as i know most of the compounds that are beneficial are locked in chitin so you need to boil them in alcohol or water, even better if you do both.
Hi, I'm trying to grow clone the same mashroom in the same method, and I have some questions, in how many days it will develop mycelium? And in what temperature I should keep them? (I'm around 23.5 Celsius)
I'm building one of these out of a 55 gal plastic drum, I know it's not going to last forever since it's made out of plastic, but it's free. Anyway I was wondering how many holes I should drill on the top of my lid to allow steam to escape, and how big those holes should be. I don't have steam release valve on mine. Thx.
Did this setup work well long term without active ventilation? What about spores in your apartment? I guess the king oysters don't need active ventilation.
Just want to point out, without breather hole, I did 20 pp5 plates inoculated with liquid culture and some that were clones. I had no breather port and had Zero growth for weeks, eventually I thought fuck it and I opened one plate to see what was going on in there, the next day there was suddenly mycelium, I clicked. No fresh air, so I poked holes with a hot pin and covered with micropore in still airbox and now the shits growing fucken wild. It really depends on how deep the pots are, not too deep is good but too shallow without breather holes and nothing will grow, also, if you exclude breather holes after a few weeks the mycelium will use up all the O2 and stall until it gets fresh air. The proper petris have loose lids and allow fresh air exchange, these deli cups don't. The breather hole is needed if you use shallow pp5 cups like the ones for soy sauce
Hey, how long does it take for the water to drop below the point where it needs to be topped off? If I don't have a source of running water to hook up, would I be able to fill up the drum enough for the water to last the full 12-18 hours? Trying to go for a very very thorough pasteurization. Thanks.
