This is one of the type of art I do. Being an old Hippie, I tend to go for colour but I do have a lot of Boho mellow also. I so proud of you going out of your box. It is fun and cute project for changing you decor.

Teresa, as I was watching this video I have an idea for an additive to your plaster. We all have orange clay pots hanging around that are either broken or chipped. I think I am going to take a hammer to mine and add the tiny pieces and powder to the mixture. To give it tat ancient look. Thank you for inspiring me to think outside the proverbial box 😀👍♥

I did the same technique but I used sand w/ paint on a pair of lamps and a terracotta pot (I did not sand them).....Love the way they all turned out.....Great idea using the spices.....

Beautiful vases; I tried it with the cinnamon instead of the chili powder, thinking it would be more fragrant, but it really isn't noticeably fragrant😮.

You are brave making all that mess. But it's worth it! Great results. I'm glad you used potting soil instead of outside dirt. Didn't our moms tell us not to dig in it??? If you add ground sage randomly around the bottom of the flowerpots, it will look like the moss that grows in the dampness.

You can also use cardboard boxes. I took a long box that a vacuum came in and am now using it as a tall vase.

Hey, Teresa. Great idea to use the spices for color 😍 my favorite was the plastic jack-o'-lantern that you used. I actually did this on a vessel it was a Southwestern design and didn't fit with anything I own. But by the time I got done with it you'd never know..... TFS

I love the heavy texture vase that wasn't sanded! Plus the one with the green oregano leaves & Italian seasoning. Did I see small seeds in the mixture from the seasonings? It looked so awesome! 😊

These look fabulous but question for you, would you need to seal them in anyway in case they're outside and rain could get at them? I would love recreate these on 2 bigger plastic urns I use for flowers outside. With it being joint compound I'm thinking they need to be sealed. I especially loved the urn with oregano.❤

Yes you can! You may want to seal everything also just to assure they are protected. I think moulds would look great!
