I needed this video!!! Thanks so much, I have been to scared to air down on the trails and have been hurting my neck with all of the hard bumping. I will setup an air tank for myself now!!

I had the exact same setup and the150 psi preset regulator failed thus supercharging the hose which exploded in my hand. Fortunately, I was using a very thin hose that exploded at a relatively low pressure; maybe 200 psi. If I had a standard 300 psi working pressure hose with a burst pressure of 1,200 psi I could have lost the use of my hand, and ears, which I've heard has happened to a few people. I would strongly recommend the adjustable regulator with attached gauges so you can see the tank pressure and the outlet pressure before handling the charged hose. FYI And thanks for the video.

Thanks dude! Glad you're okay. I have a follow on video where we make some upgrades and it works great. No more failures 🤘🏻

Damn right power tank is the best! 😂 basically it’s just their regulator that is what makes it a good product. They also sometimes have rebuilds for cheaper.

I might upgrade to that one later. I could see myself getting their roll bar bracket too. 🤙🏻

Welding supply house sells tanks of oxygen too. Might be cheaper.

Have you looked at 12v air compressors?
@FortuneOffRoad
@FortuneOffRoad 4 года назад
I have, but with the 37" tires I wanted something that would fill them faster. I also like the flexibility of running air tools too. 🤙🏻

Hey, I don’t own one of those rapid deflators, but what would stop you from inflating through one of them with the valve core removed? If you just cut a T fitting into the hose, couldn’t you just turn the compressor on as soon as you begin deflating?
@FortuneOffRoad
@FortuneOffRoad 2 года назад
Hmm I'm not really sure how that work.
@ThisTall
@ThisTall 2 года назад
@@FortuneOffRoad if you had an air Jack T’d into the hose. Once you remove the valve core, and the tool is charged, I think you could just start inflating.

Can you not fill the tank yourself or do you trade it just for convenience or safety?
@FortuneOffRoad
@FortuneOffRoad 4 года назад
I don't have a way to fill it myself. I like to trade it in because it is so quickly and easy. 🤙🏻

Would a fire ex. Work it says there tested to 600 psi. Thanks

I'm not sure about that. In my CO2 tank the pressure is pretty high and I don't know what the attachment on the bottle is to fit the regulator.

Yes a CO2 type fire ext would work. You will most likely have to pay to have the valve changed out as they are very different. You may also have to pay to have the tank hydrotested if it is out of date. On the other hand if you got the thing for free you are still $$ ahead. I have done this.

@FortuneOffRoad

Depends on the size of your tank and the dimensions of your tires. Check out this chart to see how many fill ups you can get: powertank.com/pages/tire-air-up-chart

Man, a 15lb power tank “kit” goes for as much as $750…

Yeah, they are a quality product though. This DIY setup is cool because you can upgrade as you go. Here is a link to the upgrades we made after a failed regulator. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cnjs6adnZKY.html
