Hi Ellen! Loving your videos❤ When I don’t want to use SLSA, I substitute buttermilk powder to get the bubbly-ness plus skin-soothing benefits. I wasn’t sure if you had ever tried that. God Bless you & yours in 2024!
Hi Ellen, I greatly appreciate you and your willingness to share your receipt’s and your knowledge. You are awesome. I pray that God will continue to bless you and your business.😊
I made the soap with the calamine powder and the avobath scent. They are amazing. Thank you for sharing with everyone. I plan on making a spa set with bombs, face mask and the soap for Christmas
I also live in TN, near Knoxville..very humid always 80 to 100 percent humiditity! Cant make them without a humidifier or a bin full of rice to dry them in! cheap easy alternative! For those interested..buy a walmart bin and put rice in bottom or in bowls around the bombs and put lid on dry overnight no problems! Great video very informative for those starting out!
Because of this video, I switched to Grapeseed oil as my oil, and what a difference! I like using a liquid oil and I had plenty of grapeseed oil on hand, fearing that I wouldn't be able to use it all up. You solved that problem. I have 12 shades of pre-colored baking soda prepared for bath bombs. I'm sure that I'll need more Grapeseed oil now. Thank you and God bless you.
I just love my little bath bomb hand press! It was a gift from my daughter in law. I got really lucky because they were having a sale and I was able to also get three molds with it so I felt like it was Christmas! I just love it!
I'm in middle Tennessee also. Fayetteville to be exact. I am learning so much from you! Thank you for that. We are EXTREMELY humid right now. That scares me right now!
I've seen bath bomb videos before but wasn't very enthused about all the colors they put in. This video you did really makes me want to try it! They are so pretty too, I love the shape more than the huge balls!
I learn so much from you!! Never knew that about Calamine! I'm going to give Bath Bombs a go and really appreciate all the advice, recipes and equipment reviews (I had sticker shock with the hydraulic presses 😳) and I need a press, due to arthritic hands. I have my 1st ever event in October and I wouldn't have been able to be ready for it if it wasn't for you!!! Just want you to know you are very much appreciated!! Diane 💕
Love your videos you always explain everything so well. Can I use any kind of natural powders for adding color like matcha or red beet powder or can I use a fragrant epson salt?
I wonder .how..do you sell this..I would like to try one ..I live in va . would you sell one threw the mail or or do you have a sample size.im on face book
Super cute! I made a Calamine goats milk soap, topped with pink Himalayan rock salt and rose petals just off on one side, it turned out so pretty! I should try this in my bath truffles recipes💖
@@EllenRuthSoap So true!!! 💖 I can’t wait to see yours! It’s definitely that time of year!! We are actually having a super hot summer here in Duluth and Superior, not your typical summer at all! Kinda like Tennessee weather😊
This looks amazing. I tried your recipe and did everything right. But for some reason my shower steamers are not staying together and falling apart. When I mixed it it was wet not too wet but like a damp sand and I thought everything is ok. But pls help. What did I do wrong? I want to sell them don’t understand what I am doing wrong that they do not stick in the mold? The top is hard and when I wanted to pull it out of the silicone molds they crumbled and didn’t even stick together. Mary
Bath Bombs and Steamers can be tricky. Your climate can effect how well they mold, so I suggest increasing the liquid a bit until they mold really well.
I just looked on Amazon for the calamine powder they don't have it right now could you use one of the other Calamine powder like the Aging one or something I love your videos they are so inspiring and you do such a good job thank you so much God bless
Hi, Ellen Ruth! I made these bombs today and even though the mixture passed the squeeze test, still they were crumbly around the edges coming out of the mold. I tried spraying witch hazel, but it didn’t really help all that much. Even added some more oil, but still they were not as crisp and clean as yours are. Any advice or suggestions? I live in San Diego. Thx, in advance!
Hmmm, bath bombs can be tricky, especially in a dry enviroment like CA... I would increase the witch hazel even more, or try adding a bit of isopropyl alcohol to make the mix more sticky..
I love all your videos Ellen!! Would you mind telling me what size puck mold that is? I've been trying to decide which to get and yours look like the perfect size! Thank you so much for sharing and keep up the wonderful videos!! =)
Pretty sure it’s the “Shampoo Bar Mold” from Cada. They have lots of great molds to choose from and I love the hand press so much! Thx, Ellen Ruth, for recommending it. It’s a bargain and very easy to assemble and use!🙏
Love all your videos and the way you package everything. I have one question when I go on the link for the bath mold I can not find this particular one.
Bath bombs are tricky, you can read and those are good resources for you, but honestly depends on many factors specially the humidity and the elevation on the area you live in. I will take a basic recipe make a small batch and test it and document everything that happened . For me for example in AZ with zero humidity is easy to make rock hard. bath bombs, was a different story when I shipped them to Fl or any other “humid”state and I have to modify my recipe, just read, test it and have fun. They are so amazing and people love them
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you, I look forward to reading 📚 these before I start to play with recipes, I wanna research a project before I dive into a project 😀
@@MrsTheClown I always love to research something before I jump in, I read and look things up and watched videos of soap making for 2 year years before I was comfortable enough last summer to try my first batch and now I'm obsessed 😅🤩😍, thank you for the site.
OMG, weird how we happen upon just what we need when we're not looking for it. Need a BB for baby (premi 1yr old) & momma. Needed unscented, uncolored with other gentle ingredients & did't think of calamine. Thank you
These are perfectly beautiful! Cedarwood is one of my very favorite EO's, and I had no idea calamine was a mixture of zinc and iron oxides. Thanks for educating us! We've started experimenting with making bath bombs in our very humid PNW climate. I can totally agree with your statement about no perfect recipe! 😂 We haven't had one yet that doesn't get warty and/or expand as it dries, but they're wonderfully fun to use and we're learning. We have no a/c or dehumidifier to use, so we're at nature's whim and usually between 65-85% humidity. We look forward to ordering some of yours soon. Maybe we'll learn some more! I appreciate that you don't use corn starch, as we have corn allergies. Thanks Ellen Ruth!
use a plastic bin storage bin from walmart..put rice in small bowls around your bombs and put lid on overnight they dry without warts or cracks! cheap alternative to a humidifier..I did find one on amazon for only 15 dollars that works great but in small spaces like a closet
Hi Ellen I wanted to buy some of your great products but it says does not ship to Puerto Rico so sad I wanted to try your beautiful great products . 🌸💕🌸
@@EllenRuthSoap great! I love your videos! They inspire me to make new things with my soaps. I’m from the Huntsville AL area so we are practically neighbors!😂
Hola bella sra.
I would love to make these Do you know what size the cada disķ mould was as they have several sizes on their site. Im in Australia would hate to order wrong size as shipping so expensive ! Thx 😊
