The number 1 reason I will always support you sisters is because of your generous hearts. So many RU-vidrs would have thought to package this recipe and sell it, but you gave it to us for free. THANK YOU! This is ingenious and I will be making it ASAP.

What's wrong with selling it??
@TITA-n-Dimsum

I agree. To the poster below. There’s nothing wrong with selling, but many Black women who returned natural 20+ yrs ago used RU-vid back in the day (along with message boards) to share info & encouraging the love & growth & myth busting about our hair! Then shit became gimmicky and sad!

I made this with the marshmallow root powder. Very little substance left in the strainer. I wasn't sure the substance ratio to the oil so I did 5oz to 4 oz oil. It was the PERFECT detangler for my 18" hair that is a tangly mess when worn loose or washed. So HAPPY for the video !

Hello I know this is a old video but do you happen to remember how many of those empty bottles the recipe made. I just don’t want to make too much and then have no container to store the rest. Thanks for your time!

This gives my hair the best curl definition ever! Doesn't last as long with the oils, but my hair looks so shiny instead of dry and I don't mind cowashing twice a week. I swear I've tried so many store bought gels and they all leave my hair so frizzy I don't even see my curl pattern and I refuse to use eco styler or other chemical gels because my skin is sensitive to it like if I wash my hair in the shower and the gel gets on my skin I get eczema or hives. Obviously not cool. I don't have this reaction when washing out your detangler :-)! Thank you so much for posting this video. This detangler makes actually seeing and enjoying the curl pattern in my 4c hair so much easier.

Here it is more than 3 years later and your leave in detangler is still very relevant. Yesterday December 10th 2017 I made a batch of this and I am so happy I did. I have heard of slippery elm previously but never could find it. I applied this to my hair yesterday and today I couldn't be more happier. My hair soft and my ends are too. I wanted to send a thank you so much your way. I'm not sure if you still use it but, I see myself using it for a very long time. P.S I am natural now for 22 months and counting.

I've added marshmallow root and slippery elm to my flax seed gel, but never thought to use them without flax! I will have to try this because I love the mucilage! Also, I add a little orange blossom water or rosewater to cut the smell.

This detangler is FABULOUS. The only way I could comb through my hair was standing under the shower. Now, I have the slippage that allows me to comb it dry. THANK YOU!

My hair loves it, I use it as my liquid for the LOC method. Everyone in my family loves it also. I tried something different with the one I made today, I added flaxseed in with the marshmallow and slippery elm. I can't wait to try it.

I made it a week ago or more kept it in the fridge of course.... than used it today to detangle my hair for wash day. I LOVE it for that use! I so need a detangle for my hair on wash day and help to loosen the shed hair AND not feel like I am washing tons of cash down the drain. Thank you!!. Also the PH was a exact 5 which my dry old hair just loved. Thank you again!!!

I love this video. I'm all about home-made products using natural ingredients rather than bottled and store-bought ones and these oils are so amazing for the skin! It's good to hear that they are great for the hair as well. My hair is relaxed but I'm going to use these anyway and will circle back with my results. Thanks!

Ahh... I stopped getting perms in Dec. 2010! It wasn't until about 2013 that I chopped off my hair and I'm JUST NOW finding you gals in 2016! Your videos have been most helpful to me so far. Easy to understand, not too long, entertaining/interesting and your tips have worked on me so far. Even your sister's make up tips have been extremely helpful and I've NEVER gotten very far on RU-vid with those tutorials (theyre usually too advanced for me and the girls are already stocked with tons of makeup that would cost me a fortune to run out and buy just to experiment)

I tried this yesterday, it detangled my hair very easily and no real hair loss. Though it made my hair dry in the morning after I took my twists out. That maybe because I never drank enough water yesterday though. I will be using this recipe as my detangler. Thank you.

OMG! I have been wanting to make my own conditioner using these ingredients (I read that label too girl) but I didn't know where to start on the quantities of each. As much as I love the Knot Today conditioner, and I'm using it to do my head along with my two daughters, that bottle they sell just isn't big enough. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this video! I will be making this and passing your video on!

Awesome! I was gonna make a similar product for my sets when I put in curlformers. I was going to make some flaxseed gel and then add all those goodies in there. I must get some slippery elm thou. Great video, you always deliver in a clear and concise manner. I also did the same thing after reading Kinky Curly ingredients. However, I didn't have quite as much mucilage opting for a thinner brew (too much distilled water) which explains the lack of slip,.Also I didn't add the oils , which explains the lack of shine. I will tweak my brew keeping the ingredients but add more or less of other ingredients. As I tell my students mistakes can be corrected. :-) Thanks again!

I love the results. I think I speak for a lot of naturals when I say we need simpler routines. What would be amazing is if we can get a three in one (deep conditioner, leave in, and styler) in one product. This seems like it could do just that.

What you use to deep condition your hair can't be used to style it. Your routine can be simple, but not that simple.

Why are people adding flaxseed oil and saying they made the same thing? A detangler should not have hold. If it does that it, it will not remove tangles.
