Ah, the transmission line port configuration. I'm sure these sound impeccable. Having built one of my own calculation and design, I know this is what separates the master cabinet makers from the run-of-the-mill crowd.
MrSkywalker i've also build this Hybridhorn years ago. With help from Flock Horns i added a CR- Notch Filter and damped the first Sektion behind Speaker with Bondum 800 and some Polyester. Now it sounds nearly good but miissing a bit the highest Range. Now i listen your Horns here with Percussion Ensemble- very nice Highs. Next i have to test your Notch Filter. I've also testet the Horns on Nelsons ACA- Amps- DIYAudio Boards/Kits- thats it nearly Nice Woodwork from you and well dokumented. Regards
As all full-range loudspeakers has in its strong spatiality. It is a sound that comes out of the box. But it also has the limitations of full-range loudspeakers as need a filter to correct the response curve and upper and lower limits not so extensive.
Does the bassport do much? I thought the idea behind a backloaded horn was to enhance the bass besides the transmission line effect of destressing the driver. But I really love this hybrid model.
looks pretty slick man, is the hole, or port in the bottom on the speaker compression chamber there to equalize some sort of cabinet pressure to get a right sound?.. I ask since my knowledge of speakers in a horn style is more or less limited to the understanding that as a speaker moves in and out, the sound pressure waves are expelled through the port at a higher impact then when produced... it just makes me think the hole is like some sort of ever-present pressure valve, lol.

Where did you get that plywood? I'm guessing, NOT in the US??? If those boxes sound as good as they look, they must be awesome!!! Great craftsmanship!!! OH!!! Was the mouse tired after he came out the other side of that maze? :-D Really like the feet on the boxes as well! Nice touch! KUDOS bro.....
Esse gabinete é o recomendado pela fostex para este fullrange. O projeto esta disponível na net. Nas horns a garganta atrás do falante vai abrindo cada vez mais, já nas TL a garganta vai fechando cada vez mais.
