I would love your take on golden ratio / Bucky Fuller dome built studios. Especially working in Northwestern Pine for the blank canvas room if you will.

J, I am not familiar with this design. That said all small audio rooms need low frequency management. of some type, amount, and position.

Hey Dennis, assuming that the plans are obviously NOT blue prints, do they come with math formulas to calculate the required dimensions, density etcetc so that we can layout and build the most effective/suitable BDAs to our needs? Thanks!

M, All the calculations have been done for you. You build per our drawings.

Hi Dennis i'm just about to build your BDAs, but it the instructions call for Alder, Basswood and MDF and doesn't specify which wood is for which panel. The cut sheet lists the two front panels as "MDF" so i assumed your cabinet must be the alder or basswood? But in this video here you're saying the cabinet the MDF... Please clarify.
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields Год назад
Use 1" MDF for the cabinet. Use MDF for the two front walls.

Hi! If I build the BDA-s the standard height 57", is it wise to raise them up from the floor a little to get more absorption above ear level, or not. Thank You.
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields 4 года назад
V, You can build them any height or width. Standard production units are 60" high.

Hi, I bought the Bass absorber plans and there is 15 mm mdf used as one of the front walls. I didn't find 15 mm mdf in my area, can I use 16 mm instead? Or 12 mm - that is closer to the imperial variant 1/2 inch.
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields 4 года назад
V, Yes 16 mm is fine.

I have issues at 500hz also. Is their a way to extend the range up to 500 Hz?
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields 2 года назад
Our foam and carbon units extend to 6,300 hz. which is the range mix engineers work within.

Is it the cabinet sealed by the wall diaphgrams? Is the air inside actin acting like damping material?Thanks. Giuseppe from Italy.
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields 7 лет назад
Hi B, Yes, the unit is sealed. We are working with sound pressure not air flow.

What is the fill material used in these? Would I be able to source the internal fill material here in the uk?
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields 3 года назад
Yes, we manufacture our technology in the states and London. Contact us at info@acousticfields.com for details.

@@AcousticFields Great! How much foam is required per unit, what would the cost of the fill material be roughly per unit?

Good Vid Dennis, but why 30Hz and not 27.5 Hz (Low "A") ?
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields 5 лет назад
S, Going into the 20's increases cabinet depth another 4". With cabinet depths at 14" all ready to get into the 30's, we didn't see the need.

"You're not going to be using carbon in the BDA." What if I buy carbon pellets online?
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields 5 лет назад
D, Over the counter carbons used for water and air filtration will not work for sound absorption.
@dialecticalmonist3405
@dialecticalmonist3405 5 лет назад
@@AcousticFields How about activated carbon fibers?
@AcousticFields
@AcousticFields 5 лет назад
D, No, you must control three variables: porosity size and count along with granule density.

@@AcousticFields I might sound "coocoo" and "nuts" but does the production of this item have anything to do with palm trees?

@@dialecticalmonist3405 Not to my knowledge. We use coal-based raw materials.

Apartments and Condos and Boom Cars. Low Frequency travels for miles let me tell you me. Animals in Oceans and on land use it to communicate over long distances.
