This bathroom has been a labour of love across many many weekends and it's finally done! I can't believe I managed to build every piece of furniture in here from scratch. There were only about 99 meltdowns hahaha (thank you Pat for being patient and motivating) but we've crossed the finish line!! I always wanted a dark and moody bathroom but since we rent, we can't change the tiles or even the bath fixtures. But we can change everything else, so that's what I did! ^^

In Germany, most rentals allow you to paint and drill into walls without any additional permission needed. A lot of our contracts are long term (min. 3-5 years) and when we do move out, we just have to revert it to the original condition aka fill holes and paint white. We're not allowed to drill into the tiles, so we didn't do that. I also left the bathroom fixtures alone and worked around them. I only removed the hand towel holder which can be easily attached back with 2 screws when we move out~ 2. Why aren't you drilling into studs? Our walls are all made up of concrete and/or brick, so we can drill into any point that doesn't have electricity running behind it. I always need to use wall anchors to hang anything on the wall.

I’m in awe. As usual you completely transformed this space, and it went from anonymous to packed with personality. You’ve inspired me so much, and in a unique way. You’re inspiring me to push my own perceived limits and try things that are out of my comfort zone. You’ve said that you weren’t always handy with tools and such, but you’ve grown into it and taught yourself and that journey is honestly one of the most motivating things I’ve seen. I love learning new things but building stuff has always felt so out of my reach. Now I feel like I’m getting there. I really want to. Really, really want to. Hi Hill, I love your videos, they are very aesthetically pleasing to watch and you also share very helpful tips! I also live in a rental in Germany and I really struggle to find storage, specially for the bathroom! I absolutely love how you make this typical “neubau” bathroom look very custom and full of personality, I will definitely take some inspiration from this video. My goodness, this is beautiful! I'm looking to move to a cheaper rental and some of the bathrooms in the homes look so stark, and it made me think of your first video about the bathroom vanity, lol. I don't have the tools to pull off a DIY like this, but I've seen people take dressers or nightstands and turn them into bathroom vanities and I could maybe do that (great tip regarding sealing the wood with wax!) Your hard work absolutely paid off and now, you've made the bathroom a cozy place to relax instead of strictly utilitarian. Huge round of applause! 👏🏾😊

I really wouldn't have thought this color would be so soothing in a bathroom. It makes it very cocooning and a soothing place effect. It's very nice. And then this mixture of color (dark green, brown, white) and textures (tiles, wood) is a perfect assembly ! 🌲 For my part, I'm going more for a pastel / light yellow color to give the pep I need when going to the bathroom after waking up and especially before going to work. But, I admit that this color for a room inspires me enormously.! Good job, it's wonderful 💚

I'm a new subscriber after watching your upload today. I love how you easily explain what you're doing step by step and how you show that it's all achievable. The Roman blind that you want for the window is really easy to make, even if you don't have a sewing machine. Look online for how to make one and you could probably use the fastenings of the Amazon one and just swap out the fabric. I love your final look!

Fantastic job! Can I suggest considering curtains outside the shower doors? It would give even more warmth and help break up the white of the tile, so that you can choose a window cover more easily!

Love what you’ve done it looks amazing. You can make your own Roman blind if you have basic sewing skills, it’s just a whole lot of straight lines and you have the hardware from the blind you’ve installed. Watch a you tube video or 2

One more comment to say how absolutely talented you are!!! What you do is pure beauty and aesthetic and I started watching all of your videos, got really addicted! You inspired me so I got to start a makeover of my “Kommode” and now I am in love with it again. Also, love how you also share some personal feelings (anxiety etc.) I think everyone relates to in one way or another (some more, some less).
