In this DIY video we show how to make a beautiful low cost acrylic display case tarantula enclosure for a terrestrial tarantula. One of the questions I've gotten the most on my posts in the facebook groups and on some of my videos is "where do we get our enclosures?" so I decided to make a video of the start to finish process for how we make a terrestrial tarantula enclosure. we hope you guys enjoy this video and if you have any questions on anything that I didn't cover in the video please ask in the comments below and let us know what your favorite DIY enclosure to use is, we would love to hear all your ideas!

@@HDArachnids yeah I’m gonna try it out. I’ve just been honing it out with the bit I use. I’m also testing different bits to see if there’s anything better. So far just a regular all purpose has done the best job. I don’t know how I came across your channel but I’m glad I did. It’s refreshing to see a channel that shows the DIY stuff instead of throwing discount codes out for everything. Part of the joy of the hobby is DIY enclosures.

It might be just a bit small for a full grown adult but it will be good for quite a while before needing a final rehouse

Hello, I was just wondering if the enclosure to the left is the hobby lobby Basketball display case?

Its is! They work great as well. Just gotta watch those lids as they don't fit as tightly so you may need to use some painters tape on the lid to keep it secured to prevent an escape.

What size t could live in this size

Up to about 4 or 5 inches is the biggest i would go, anything larger will need a bit bigger enclosure. We use these for a lot of our juveniles before they get their forever enclosure. Thanks for watching!

Obviously the lids are pretty secure on those?

Yea they fit pretty tightly. Most of the time they are just fine for the size spider that is appropriate for these enclosures but occasionally you do get a looser lid or sometimes after many times of being opened and closed thry do loosen up some. When that happens I just stick a couple pieces of painters tape on to secure it. Painters tape will hold well but can be peeled of without leaving that sticky tape residue.
