Your video is still helping us newbies to Bedjet! I want to buy a bedjet, but honestly, $130 for a cheap cotton double sheet is ridiculous. I am totally going to DIY a bedjet cover.

This is a great idea because I've also been asking for a Lyocel alternative to the Cloud Sheet. I'm editing a previous review in which I made a comment that included misinformation. I'm very happy I came across this video as it doesn't seem that BedJet feels the need to accommodate those of us with a preference for moisture wicking materials. Anyway, great video! Thanks, and sorry for the ignorant post made previously.

The only "holes" in the Cloudsheet are to attach the hose, which you can easily do with a tucked duvet cover. The air that cools/heats escapes through the "weave" of the cotton. In the case of my Cloudsheet, it is cotton percale on one side and cotton sateen on the other. The latter is a "tighter" weave that holds the air better. Whatever duvet cover you choose, should have a weave similar to "percale". For example, my linen sheets have a weave so loose that all the air escapes at my feet! Not good. I've used duvet covers made of both Lyocell and lately, hemp. Good luck! ;-)
@psrayster3035
@psrayster3035 3 года назад
Call BedJet or look closey at the bottom of your demo sheet. The reason it says “this side down” labels is so that you have the holes which are stitched so as not to tear. These holes actually keep the cloud sheet hovering above you at higher speeds. I have asked for a Lyocell alternative (that’s how I found your video. Again that doesn’t solve the problem of the holes. You run your BedJet at low speeds. Still where does the air go? Please check with BedJet or more closey examine your BedJet Cloud Sheet before telling me I’m wrong. Thanks for the effort though, and I’m happy if it works for you.
@psrayster3035
@psrayster3035 3 года назад
@@ComfortSleepSanctuary You are correct. I misunderstood the information I received from BedJet as to why they weren't sure that Lyocell would work. I apologize for my lack of understanding. I falsely assumed that the little stitched "holes" were for air, when in fact they're to help keep the two sheets connected. Apologies.

Thanks for the sheet tip. I ordered an all 100% bamboo double zipper duvet off Amazon for $64. My thinking is the double zipper action will hold that air in nice & tight vs the button up duvet option.

Thanks for the tip. It’s been a few years, are you still using this system and cooling sheet hack? Summer is around the corner and here in Los Angeles it gets hot, humid and our nights can be unbearable. After trying everything from linen sheets and duvets to cooling mattress pads, I’m about ready to try out some bed cooling tech and this is the most affordable option. Would you recommend it?
@ComfortSleepSanctuary
@ComfortSleepSanctuary Месяц назад
Yes, years on, I’m still using my BedJet plus duvet sheet hack. My favorite fibers for sheets/duvets are linen or hemp. Good luck staying cool!

I'm feeling at desparation point right now, so I'm glad I found your video even though its a bit long and slow. I didn't think it could be done with something as simple as a duvet cover. I'd imagine you making a cloud sheet yourself, since you seem to know a lot about textiles and fabrics. I made my own bedjet and £80 seems like an awlful lot of money for a bedsheet. I just need a few weeks of good sleep to figure out why my bed gets so hot.
@rynezuzinec688
@rynezuzinec688 2 года назад
Do you recommend using a blanket or anything inside the duvet or on top of it?
@ComfortSleepSanctuary
@ComfortSleepSanctuary 2 года назад
You could put a blanket inside, but that's one more thing to wrestle in and out on laundry day. I prefer to treat the duvet cover like a top sheet, and layer more on top: blanket, comforter, quilt, even a weighted blanket. Whatever you need to be perfectly comfortable. ;-)
@awgoodrich8
@awgoodrich8 Год назад
The cloud sheets though have small holes in it to allow some air to get beyond the sheet and get to you. How would a duvet do this unless you punch holes in one side of it?
@ComfortSleepSanctuary
@ComfortSleepSanctuary Год назад
The Cloud Sheet has no holes... in fact, it blows up like a balloon at high fan speeds. Air eventually seeps out via seams and the weave of the cloth. You actually don't want the air to escape too quickly, as it won't have the opportunity to distribute over your entire body. The air doesn't have to touch you to cool; just pull away annoying heat from your skin.

I happen to sleep two ways, either extremely hot and I sweat but I can still sleep for the most part even if just a little uncomfortable, but I cant go to sleep without a fan blowing on my head. The other way I sleep is extremely cold, where I sweat, it becomes super cold and I cant get back to sleep cause Im SOAKING WET and shivering. I wont need any cloud sheets personally, but I am interested in how to place the nozzle to prevent my feet or legs to being too cold. I think if the air was around mid bed area, like where my butt is, would be good flow. In summer I prefer satin like sheets, cause it keeps me cool and is good for the skin and hair. In winter I like cotton or flannel sheets.
@ComfortSleepSanctuary
@ComfortSleepSanctuary Месяц назад
Are you getting too hot with cotton/flannel? If so, try linen or hemp, which manages heat/sweat so much better. Good luck staying cool.
@Mr-E.

Hi hope all is well with you! I had a quick question - When you mentioned that lyocell is more moisture wicking when compared to cotton, would that matter as much if air is flowing through a cotton duvet from the BedJet? In other words, wouldn't the air flow help cancel out that negative with cotton? I only ask because the cotton duvets are much cheaper. Figured no harm in asking, and thank you!
@ComfortSleepSanctuary
@ComfortSleepSanctuary 2 года назад
Every little bit helps. If you blast your BedJet your choice of duvet cover might not be as critical... however, I sleep with the fan on around 20%, so air may not be getting everywhere

Since the cloud sheet is meant to be...a sheet...are you using the duvet cover as a sheet, with a blanket on top, or do you use a sheet under the duvet cover?
@ComfortSleepSanctuary

Yes, I'm using it as a "thicker than normal" sheet. Plus a light linen quilt on top. Done!

Have you tried using the bed jet on the side of your bed so your feet don't get cold? Would this work better with your weighted blanket, too?
@ComfortSleepSanctuary

Haven't tried it on the side... If my feet get too cold I tend to curl up in a ball, or move my feet away from the middle.

Question, Does the Cloud Sheet have small holes that let the air flow out of the sheet and onto user? If so, how does the Duvet cover allow the air to escape onto the user? Thank you in advance! or does the precale side just loose enough that it allows the air to flow through it? Finally, will this only work if you install the bedjet at the bottom of the bed? we have a sleigh stile bed and have to install from the side. Thanks again.
@ComfortSleepSanctuary
@ComfortSleepSanctuary 2 года назад
No holes! The air works its way out through the weave of the fabric (plus stitched seams, etc.). The original Cloud Sheet is a fairly tight weave of percale and sateen cotton. So a similar tight weave is recommended. (My loose-weave linen sheets let all the air out at my feet.) Note, that the air doesn't necessarily need to contact you, but wick away moisture and keep you at the correct temp. And yes, you can attach the BedJet hose from the side. The Cloud Sheet has closeable side slits for this purpose, but you can turn a standard duvet sideways.

Thanks for the video. i went to Buffy's website but every duvet cover i saw was at least $200 which is comparable (actually more expensive) than the cloud sheet. Im assuming missing something so i would appreciate if you could share the link of exactly which duvet cover worked which also is cheaper than the cloudsheet. Thanks in advance
@ComfortSleepSanctuary
@ComfortSleepSanctuary 2 года назад
I have the CloudSheet as well, so getting the best price wasn't my goal. It's made of cotton which is a poor cooling fabric. I purchased the Buffy duvet, as it's made of Eucalyptus Lyocell, one of my favorite fabrics. If you don't mind cotton, there are a ton of available duvet covers significantly less expensive.

If you wish to avoid cotton, one budget option is a linen duvet cover from IKEA. However, it will need A LOT of laundering to make it soft... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ToS7KYecbIU.html

I can’t help but wonder if sleeping on top of the bedjet sheet would feel better than sleeping underneath it? It seems that the air would make its way around you escaping just enough to keep you cooler instead of having the sheet hover over your body.

You are supposed to lay on top of Cloud sheet (or duvet cover in this case) that attached to Bedjet machine. Duvet cover is acting like a bed sheet and it goes on between mattress and your body.

Ok first of there is no such thing as "sustainably grown trees". Any tree that is cut down will emit the carbon dioxide that was stored, into the air. The older the tree the more carbon dioxide it held, the more carbon dioxide that is emitted.

They don't "cut down" the trees. They trim the trees so that they can continue producing more branches. BTW perfect screen name, lol.
