That's actually what I'm doing right now except I'm making them for myself, I have 2 Cockateils and they've been living in a small cage with just food and water for 2 years and now I'm preparing to ask my mom for a bigger cage for me to put toys in.

yeah birds will always be afraid of new toys, either introduce them slowly or when your birds are out playing put the toy in their cage and they might want to investigate it and may eventually play with them

You could leave them out during playtime and act like they're not supposed to have them. My birds love whatever they're not supposed to have.

@Aliboo TV one time I tried experimenting with my birds cage and I turned the perches in another direction and they hatedddd it. I know that because they literally refused to go back inside. It was late and I caught them trying to sleep on the plant branches in the living room. I turned it back and they went right back in. It was kinda funny tho lmao.

yes, i made this toy for all my birds, each one loves them, especially my budgies and cockatiels, they can chew the cardboard, swing it around, etc, they have fun playing with it, they are super cheap and easy to make, ive made about 8 in total, my birds bloody love em.

I'm not an expert. But I have been seeing alot of people on diffrent videos use cotton string

mine are all named after fruit well except my dads 2 budgies, i have 4 finches; peaches, kiwi, plum and apricot, 2 cockatiels; mango and cherry, 4 budgies, blueberry, pineapple and blu and sprite oh and a canary called lemon haha, i have a lot i know lol

I have six and they are also named after fruits or vegetables idk.... ⁴/6 ------- Yellow/white: Lemon Turkis: Momo (Japanese for peach) White/sky blue: Pumpkin Olive green: Kiwi and my bf wants to call the new one Papaya for some reason even if he is more neon turkis/yellow hehehe.... :P

Squeaki Petz yes, but I did see two mistakes. She used tape and unsafe string

tape was to help me thread the beads on, took it off after fiming, i reccomend you use a thicker string or even natural leather stips, parcel string is what i had at the time and my birds dont have a problem with it, if you have a string muncher then yes use the leather rather than parcel string, i always supervise them when they play with it so if there is any problems i will take it out and re fix it, etc

aw cute, i have a rabbit too but not the size of a cat haha.

i used just ordinary parcel string as that was all i had at the time of making this video, but i recomend you use something like the rubber cord stuff you get on store bought toys as itll last a little longer than string would, but yes i would use stronger string rather than wool.

i used this string as demonstration purposes, as i dont have the elasticated string that are used on bird toys normally, if you are planning on making this, use whichever string yoy want, mine was for demonstration purposes and if i do give them it i fully supervise incase they tear bits off

Yeah im assuming it's some kind of ladder

as i say, this is for my birds (small), this video was mainly for demonstration purposes, and when i do give my birds the toy i fully supervise them, and if it becomes broken, which it hasnt yet i would take it straight out, if you have a large bird i would recomend getting very large wooden beads (craft store maybe) give them a good wash, and use that lace string stuff you normally find on store bought toys, i dont know what its called though, sorry, and maybe get a kitchen roll tube, stuff it with kitchen roll and your birds fav treats if you dont like the dangly bits on the bottom, but remember just supervise your bird with any toy :)

Aliboo TV A yellow headed Amazon. I use the towel papers scroll a lot I've been doing that for years haha. But yeah he will more or less eventually destroy everything that enters his cage xD. Buuuuut I already know that. And knew that before I put it in his cage. So I don't mind.

Parrots dont swallow things normally, trust me. Something would have to go seriously wrong for your bird to purposely swallow a bead. They are very good at breaking things up until nothing's left, but they don't swallow it. Individual birds may get into a habit of pica, but it isn't a common trait in birds, as opposed to dogs and cats.

I have 2 parakeets named Kiwi and Lola. Just yesterday one of her eggs hatched and another hatched today! She has five eggs left. All but one are fertile. So needless to say i built a bigger cage and so excited for the babies to grow so i can transfer them all into there new aviary!

depending on the bird really, i made these or small birds, budgies, cockatiels and finches, not one has chewed the beads, if you were worried about them chewing the plastic beads, you could use the wooden ones you get in craft stores!
