Just so everyone knows coconut oil is used in some of the major body butter brands used for tattooing. I prefer to use less ingredients to avoid the allergy issues. Some of the major brands also add Mango, sunflower, aloe, rice, rosemary, green tea, and mint. I think you will have less chances of a reaction with just shea and coconut oil. If you add the vitamin e and glycerin you still have less stuff in it then the body butters being sold to tattoo shops all over. I don't know why they add all of the ingredients. I prefer using things that get the job done. Only use what works and nothing more. You add more and the cost goes up.
I hope that people watch the videos and think more before they put the tattoo needle to someone. You are right about the videos. They should save a lot of skin. Hopefully keep people from making a mistake that will be on them permanently. Think before you ink. They use that saying for people considering getting a tattoo. I think it should apply to the tattoo artist. Really put some thought and effort into every tattoo you do. Thanks for the comment.
Love the video dude you explain stuff thoroughly and slow from top to bottom start to finish on All the information makes it comprehensive to beginners like myself I bought a bs tattoo kit and quickly learned that there not worth the time I now have a Micky sharpz t dial as a shader and the line o graph for my liner and have practiced with both on myself and it's like night and day after I learned about machine tuning and the importance of a digital power upply that how's the CPS and duty cycles voltage settings your an awesome teacher I love your videos I've watched so many hours worth of tattoo videos and yours are by far the best sir thumbs up to you and keep em coming forget the haters
I know this question comes late, but i'm just starting. When you say soap and water, what type of soap are you talking? Dawn or dish soap, or some special soap?
You are looking for an anti bacterial soap. Hibiclense is made for cleaning hands and wounds. Good to wash your hands before tattooing and using on a tattoo itself. Tattoo is a wound. A scab that has pigment in it. If you don't have hibiclense I would use a mild hand soap. Something without a lot of chemicals or fragrance. During the tattoo you aren't trying to disinfect the tattoo. You are just cleaning up ink. You also don't want to rub dry paper towel on the client. Little soap in the water helps remove ink and lube the paper towel for your clients comfort. This is also why i use the body butter. Little lube removes ink from the skin without rubbing hard. Once the tattoo is finished you can wash the area with soap. Wash it good with an antibacterial soap. Again I like to use Hibiclense. At the end of the tattoo you are trying to remove germs and kill bacteria. Prevent anything from infecting the tattoo. During the tattoo the soap and water is only for clients comfort and cleaning up ink. You don't need crazy ingredients that will irritate the clients skin. You are just looking to add enough soap to make clean up easier.
I’ve just recently got into stick-n-poke tattooing & definitely gunna create this body butter for my clients aftercare kits, so ThankYou for this natural alternative! Though I also microblade eyebrows & I provide A&D ointments in the aftercare kits to be used once a day (rice grain size) for the first 3 days after procedure. Being that you make great points in this video for more vibrant tattoos to use this homemade body butter along with why petroleum jelly like products aren’t as effective, so I’m wondering should I switch out the A&D ointment with this body butter for my microblading aftercare kits too? Side Note: Microblading involves paper cut like slits with ink into the skin on the face mimicking hair like strokes.
I would switch because a&d is a little greasy. Has a bad smell sometimes. Body butter gives you the moisture you need without the bad stuff. Feels better and smells better
@@richardstone2025 yes, i forgot I posted this and actually posted it again. My bad! worked great. it isnt white as the unrefined shea is a golden color
I have not had this issue. All I can think is that it isn't being mixed good enough. I would let it stay in the freezer and beat it up until you get that whip cream look.
I can't give you a good answer on that. I haven't had it last long enough to go bad. Some things like coconut oil are natural preservatives and won't go bad as quickly. That is a good question that I would need to research further
@@TattooUniversity thank you so much for replying back beyond notice when I apply the Vaseline the ink stops coming out wasn’t to sure what was going on
Tattoo University on Facebook. I'm working on my website gotattoou.com, and I'm working on updating my instagram. Don't have a lot of time to do videos and work on the social media so they are lacking right now. I'm working on ways to improve them. I recommend you visit Facebook because if I'm busy there are other people on there who can help.
Tattoo University yeah & thanks i will go on favebook and check out your page so far ive been learning alot from your videos, thanks alot I really appreciate it 💯💯
2-1 mix. I would measure it out because jars are not the same size. For every 2 scoops of shea butter you add 1 scoop of coconut oil. If the whole jar is 18 scoops shea butter you can add 9 scoops of the coconut. It isn't a 50-50 mix. That being said you can mix it to the consistency that you like. I like the 2-1 mix but you can experiment with it.
Thank you very much for your infos. Do you think it will be good to add a very small percentage of Alcohol to avoid bacteria growth? Like Benzyl alcohol..Thanks
I have not tried that. I've been using products that other tattoo artist have made. Tried out body butter from several companies. Some have been good and others not so good. My preference is to use the body butter I made or hustle butter. If I did not have those options I would go back to using Aquaphor and the A&D. We know they work, but they aren't the best option to use.
Vaseline is a brand name of petrolium jelly, it is refined petrolatum. A&D is full of shit like Lanolin (animal by product), Paraffin and other oils. Hustle butter is expensive!!!
great info, but that line at the end where you said walmart where they make a lot of things for black people had me smh laughing like what did he just say??? lol...u might wanna edit that out bro.
Just saying what I see. If someone said to go to that section everyone would know where to go. There is always that section where you find products marketed towards black people. I have sensitive skin and very curly beard so those products work good for me also. I learned this from my black friends. If I was racist I would hide it but I'm not afraid. By now people should know I love everyone and like to speak the truth. If you laughed that was a good thing.
Awesome bro it just.made me laugh, doubted u meant that in a bad way...and I'm happy I subscribed to a channel as helpful as yours where a reply comes back fast. Keep up the good work😉
