I hope you guys enjoy watching this as much as I enjoyed making it! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think I should cut with it! Thanks for watching!
Pretty cool, I always wanted a chop saw for my work, could never justify the costs I might just go looking on craigslist for a busted chainsaw with a working engine.
Do it with a V belt (fan belt) and your saw can spin alternators, compressors,etc.... You will also have less harmonics that cause blade chatter etc...
I am still considering this one, I want to check out the one from Northern tool, the Ironton Portable Band Saw.Your video was a big help But, the 20% coupon doesn't work with Bauer tools so I am holding off until its on sale
Sweet job! Can I just add, from personal experience, try doing a down hand weld on those flush edges, if you pick up the pool of weld just right at the start, you can get a lovely smooth bead all the way down, and it requires little to no grinding 👍
Great work, Thanks for uploading this video! Do you have them for sale, or would you be able to make one for me, I have the exact chainsaw?! Kind regards, Dan George
Cool video. I do prefer when you talk and explain stuff. Your knowledge and explanations are why I watch your videos as I've never been engineering minded. I like the voice overs because it breaks down ideas in a 'Mr. Wizard' demonstrative manner which makes me want to learn more. I always assumed the RU-vidrs who don't speak over their vids have non-native or lower level English accents. I would prefer they talked too or used subs, few would really care enough to complain. That or some RU-vidrs are scared of some sort of litigation but I assume a 'viewer discretion' warning would absolve them of any liability. Is there any practical scenario where this is preferable to an angle grinder? These are most commonly used for road work and rescue no? I can't recall seeing these used in a shop. Or is this for another French horror film?
Don't worry there's going to be plenty more videos with dialog. I just didn't have much to say about this one. I have several chainsaw hack ideas and figured this one would be a good start. I'm going to use it to cut up some metal that is out in one of my fields and too far away from any power source to use any type of electric saw. Thanks for watching!
OMFG!!!! Finally,a guy that builds shit the way I do!My good man,you just gained a sub! +1 ;-) As far as "what" to cut? I say with your hair(NOT to be mean),but go full Gallagher, and cut a WATERMELON!!
Hahahaha there is a reason why 14 inch chop saws are stationary. You just made an extremely dangerous 14” angle grinder. Good luck when one of those 14” abrasive discs explodes on you.
