DIY Custom sheath for opinel #8 slim
As always I will post my success and my failures. This project was definately a learning experience and I finished with a useable sheath.... success! In this video I make a custom leather sheath for my opinel #8 slim. I used 8 oz veg tan leather, dark brown leather stain and waxed thread to put this guy together! I also show some of the other leather projects I have attempted in my 2 weeks of leather craft. Thanks for watching .....be gentile!

LOL@ strippers bra 😂😂😂 I think it came out awesome Mark, the stitching blemish gives it some bushcraft character. I love how you're fearless and jump into these projects with both feet right into the deep end. Thumbs up bro 👍

Oh brother I'm not fearless. I am just determined to be real! I want to show all my success, failures and be honest as possible. Too many "everything is awesome" guys out there. I think when people see someone try something and make some mistakes but still finish with something decent it will inspire them to try. It's good to get out of your comfort zone from time to time.

three years later.... is the stain off your hands ? nice job, i like it, i learnt some things from your vid. wanna do one for my opinel now.... i did an axehead cover, which i enjoyed doing, i have about five miles of thread left, so need to do something !

Lol yup just came off yesterday lol. It is still going strong too. I took this setup to Algonquin park on a 53k canoe camping trip. I brought a fixed blade but never used it. I love this rig.
