If u leave the tag bits on the diamonds it helps lock them in place when sewing

Hi Jennifer, what's the difference between using a sealing iron and a regular iron? I've never heard of using a sealing iron. Do you use this for all your EPP and Applique? Does the sealing iron have adjustable voltage where you can switch it to work in different countries? I have the mini iron you have and there's a switch on it to switch it to 240v for Australia. Does the sealing iron have the same? I'm really wondering what the benefit is, or the difference between a regular iron. Thank you!!

We love the sealing iron because it can get really hot for projects that you want to have a crisp edge! We use this for ALL applique work and EPP projects because it seals in a crease that stays put even when you remove the paper templates. It also is amazing for working with tiny pieces since it has that nice pointed nose. Unfortunately, this model does not have adjustable voltage. If you have an iron that you love for small projects that works for you then there is no reason to switch over but this one is our favorite! :)

Very interesting, I might have to source an iron like this in Australia. I googled it last night but I can't find this brand anywhere here. There are similar ones though. Thanks for your advice.

It's a good idea to use double sided sticky tape on the template then you can see to fussy cut it sticks to your fabric but just lifts of easy

Did you leave the paper inside for stability before gluing to the other side of the wreath?
@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics 8 лет назад
We did not leave the papers inside of our fabrics, however, you can keep it in there but there will be additional bulk to handle :)

I can not find the Sealing Iron. I tried the link but can't find it on the Shabby Fabrics site. I looked through the notions and even typed 'iron' in the Search bar, still no luck. Can you help?

Unfortunately, the Sealing Iron we did use was discontinued and we haven't found a good replacement yet! :/ - Morgan

I don't see the 1½” Equilateral Triangle Papers on the website?? I see 2 1/2 but the download is saying they are 1 1/2

Unfortunately, we don't have those available individually for sale but they are included in the supply kit which gives you everything you need to create all three ornaments, all you have to do is pick your fabrics: www.shabbyfabrics.com/English-Paper-Pieced-Ornaments-Supply-Kit-Fabric-NOT-Included-P46562.aspx Another option would be to create templates yourself out of card-stock which would work perfectly as well :)

its easier to remove the paper if you give it a press before as it makes the glue a little softer !

It also helps to punch a hole in the middle of the paper (before you start). I can use my tweezers to go through the hole and pull the paper out.
