This video will help guide you through the installation of a Basco Deluxe bypass sliding shower door - model 6150 / 7150 for a bathtub and a shower.
From measuring the opening at the center the tub rim, to attaching the towel bar and mounting the doors, this handy how-to video walks you through the basics of installing a Basco sliding shower door....specifically the Basco model 6150/7150.
To install your Basco bath enclosure, you'll need a tape measure, level, #2 Phillips screw driver, a 3/16" wrench, hacksaw, clear silicone caulking and drill with the 1/8" standard drill bit in 3/16" tile masonry drill bit.

Best video to watch if you buy basco. Installed easily except for door adjustments. Had to keep taking off till I got them right. Start rollers in middle of diagonal slot then adjust. Otherwise pretty straight forward.

I bought a patterned glass version of this Basco bypass shower door. Point # 6 in the instructions that came with the door says that the pattern should face to the exterior of the shower. What they don't emphasize clearly is that you need to install the Roller Bearing to the SMOOTH or GLAZED side of the door so that when you hang them, they can slide properly. The image on the instructions is clear but they don't tell you how important it is to copy the image in the worded instructions. IF you hang the doors and they don't slide easily back and forth, you attached the roller bearings to the wrong side and on the wrong door. You will need to pull the doors off and remove the roller bearings. Then switch the doors and screw in the roller bearings again.

Basco Shower Door A0043-60CLSV Classic sliding bathtub shower door. Everything went well until it came to installing the anti-jumping screws securing the anti-jump plastic inserts. The directions have you installing 1 #11 screw in a pre-existing hole into each anti-jump part. easy enough, except the #11 screws are to small for the hole. I have screws of my own that would fit, but the are not stainless steel. This mean stopping the project and make a trip to the hardware store for 3 cheap SS screws. Basco should have known about this by now... Not happy.

I'm installing a Basco Shower Door. There are no pre-drilled holes in the anti-jump sliders. The top track fits into tee-lock wall jambs. Now I have to take one jamb loose to get the top track off. Then I have to take the anti-jump sliders out and drill them. Two steps forward and one step back. Greetings from Missouri.

Yesterday I had a 6150 version of these doors installed on a tub. I did not install it myself but had a Lowe's contractor do the work. I was told to wait 24 hours to use it so that the silicone adhesive could dry. Today I examined the door. I immediately noticed that the small, square, plastic finger grab of one door could strike the aluminum frame of the other door when either door was being slid opened and/or closed. There is no doubt that this would cause damage to either the metal frame of one door, or the finger gab of the other door, or both. It could happen as quickly as the first hurried slide of either door. The doors appear to be installed correctly. I am puzzled, and disappointed, by what appears to be an obvious design flaw.

The doors are not intended to freely slide past each other. The finger guards should be against the 2 walls when the doors are closed properly.

My door is wobbly when we close it and doesn't line up with the door jam unless we glide it be hand to the jam bumper any suggestions

Hi there, thanks for your comment. The problem may be a defective bottom guide causing too much pressure on the panel while sliding, or possibly a defective roller. Another possibility is that the wall jambs were not installed plumb, which will cause the panels to lean and not line up with the wall jamb bumpers. Our first suggestion would be to check that the wall jambs are plumb. If they are not, this would be the first thing to fix. How do you know if reinforcement is built into the wall of the unit?!

Hello Sully, thank you for your question. When measuring, we find that using a stud finder works well. Our installers use that to determine if a wall has a stud and where it is located. You can purchase a stud finder at your local home improvement stores, such as Lowes or Home Depot.

I bought the 7000 series and had it delivered. It was delivered upside down. Now what do I do ? I can't install it upside down can I ???

If you are referring to the 7150 door, then you should be able to just take it out of the packaging and turn it around. There is no "up" or "down" side of the door itself. I purchased a 300 dollar version, arrived chipped on door, top panel scratched to hell and back then to top it of the logo is upside down. Packaging was terrible. Garbage product.
