Hey I got the same alternator but the rectifier went out am trying to get this same one did you contact auto tech to get the rectifier? I don’t see and rectifiers on there website thanks

So, if the power leads coming off the alternator where fused do you think it might have saved this thing from over current?

I’m not entirely sure. It seems to me that 12 50 amp diodes would only be adequate for 300 amps worth of continuous 3phase rectifying… but in that case it is odd that only one set overheated?? 🤷‍♂️

@@MrM_Full-Send Valid point...theses alts are supposed to be highly recommended / tested tried and true. Some kind of user error had to have occurred. Im sure if you or the user contacted Autotech they'd be interested in hearing what happen and give a proven answer as to the result. Im not positive though.

@@joshk9102 that’s a very good point. I’ve been in contact with a few people from autotech but never specifically asked what they thought 🤔. I had this one running myself for about 3 months with no issues. Honestly I think the failure is related to pushing it beyond its design limits but 🤷‍♂️…

⁠@@joshk9102reading the comments about this brand of alternator seems to indicate that "recommended/tested, tried & true" may be code for DUMPSTER FIRE.

Hey can you please help me understand how to get around my 2019 Toyota Camry LE ECU it controls the charging system and keeps the voltage at 13.8 steady I need it to be at least 14.4-14.5 to charge lithium batteries properly and once I have figured out how to do this properly I can upgrade to a HO alternator

so…unfortunately I have little knowledge of how car specific hardware works. however Autotech for example has a dedicated voltage regulator. this means if you don’t connect it to your ecu. the alt will produce 14.8 volts but your computer will return an electrical system error because it’s ecu voltage sensor is disconnected. essentially your car says you have a dead battery… or your little battery error light is permanently on. I ran into one situation where the car would provide an error chime during heavier demand scenarios.. i don’t really have a great answer but every car has unique nuances that create specific challenges when modifying the electrical system…

@@MrM_Full-Send my main problem is I don't know the first thing about cars and just the usual about systems this is my first time ever trying to upgrade past the stock setup so I didn't know anything about alternators or anything like that to do with car audio when I purchased the car so I ended up with this situation hind sight lol but I need to upgrade the alternator but it is in my daily driver work vehicle and since I don't know anything about it I want to make sure that it's not going to do anything and leave me stranded somewhere before I do it is it ok to upgrade and ride around with the battery lights and charging system indicator will it do anything to the car long term and if I did do it will it work properly on a daily basis without a bunch of maintenance or is upgrading the alternator an upgrade that needs to be monitored I would really like to do it but I'm not getting much info about how to do it or problems that may occur with has me at a stand still

.. i wish they were what i thought it was gunna be but i just got refunded by theire call, pretty stupid stuff waited 3 weeks for nothing. And to even get back in cad even less then what i paid.. oh well tho, now im goin with apex alternators. He underates his alts and as well is on par with auto tech on price but he has a 350 amp rather then just 320 for mine. .. 200 amps at 600 rpm gawd dayummm. Tho ye auto tech does have some powerfull alts but their service is horrible to ppl that are like me.. aha you know what i mean by like me if u remember who this is ahah XD

😒, Well that was not the experience I had at all… that is definitely unfortunate. When this one came in cooked they sent me my new rectifier with a free voltage regulator for what I thought was very reasonable. They Responded to all my correspondence within a day and were super helpful. I guess there is some inconsistency 🤷‍♂️
