Fabulous job! Many years ago, my dear Aunt used to be the buyer in a high-end luggage/leather store and she also dressed the windows. She would make occasional buying trips to NYC and I thought that was so cool! Anyway, she learned a lot about interior design. She told me that something black in the room was like the 'eyebrows' on the face. It grounds the room and gives it depth and interest. I have always followed her advice. I have some of her decorative things that I use. She had great taste and her things are still stylish after all these years. Keep up the good work Christina! 🥀

Came for the chair! So happy to the restore of the magazine rack with the cane! I've wondered how to repair pieces water damaged like that! Ok. I need to purchase another like I need a hole in my head! 🤣 Getting a sprayer would be worth not having cans of spray paint to store. And the spray tent! I feel like I've been under a rock!! Yes ! A ( good quality ! ) faux fern , along w/ a few of other green plants , adds interest & helps " soften " a room , same as a throw & pillows Perhaps a green plant on the mantel next to the textured wall art ? Prefer limited accessories - quality over quantity . 🥰

I wish I could afford one. I’m just setting up selling on Etsy and selling to others than family. I have the large Wagner tent and love. But I bought a cheaper sprayer on line and hate it. I seem to have so much overspray. I even tried using it on my house. No good. Painted my house by hand! Is this good for spraying the inside walls too? I have to paint my entire house inside as well. Water damage. Bad contractors. Well, I can only wish. Someday soon.

I have two olden wooden chairs I LOVE (with two totally different styles) and I've finally found what I want to do with them... spray paint them black! I'm also going to paint black a small metal "thingy" with legs which is supposed to hold ice and cold drinks. Yesterday my order for bunches of silk lavender flowers which will be set inside once it's painted. Sooo happy I saw this today - thanks!!!!!

You mentioned that you got grief for painting your closet walls umber---I had a condo where the bathroom had very pale yellow tile up to about chest level. I painted it a glossy, dark chocolate brown, dark brown towels, very dramatic. I painted the kitchen cabinets a sunny yellow. The real estate agent very condescendingly told me it would be difficult to sell b/c of my colors, so we should expect it to take extra time. Sold the 1st week, the wife of the couple said "We bought this b/c the colors were so great, we won't change a thing." I guess somebody told real estate agents that white is the only right color & that buyers have no imagination.

You could also soak the basket in bleach/water solution to remove the color and then stain it in desired color.

I just had to let you know…. I have an original, from a high end furniture store in Seattle, Wa, Vintage 6 Chairs & the most unique wood table that goes with it & they are all a bit bigger due to its a table W/ 6 chairs. All solid Wood that I’ve just let the top coat finish ware off on it over time & that’s all that’s on it, No stain only the varnish that’s coming off, because it’s Vintage. I’ve kept it all these years as a project piece that I had planned to pain the chairs black, pain the thick somewhat spindled table legs & all of the base black & then sand off the rest of the varnish on the amazingly unique wood top with square, but rounded edges and stain the top an amazing color, seal & sell a vintage All solid wood 6 chairs & large table redone with what’s really popular now..,, for a great make money price😉❤️❣️ I’m now in Spokane Wa. And there’s just no close city’s here and people are really wanting this style👏👏👏❣️ BUT I got sick & with it came almost completely disability & recently major ER surgery….. so I Can NOT do it😢🥺‼️‼️‼️ So wanted to sell as a project piece that someone else could do very little prep on & make quite a bit of money on…. BUT not well enough to even get that done, moving sometime soon & I’ll have to get rid off it (too big) for a little apt now…. And I’ve moved soooo many times & kept it with me for the last 15+ years🫣😫Nooooo it’s so nice, thicker better quality than most I ever see, due to coming from a high end furniture store😉❣️ Just thought I’d let you know since on the Windsor chair subject 🤗❣️😉❣️❣️❣️ Love the flips you did❤️❤️❣️

I like the finished magazine rack though not for magazines. You could roll up some thin throw rugs and put them in the rack for use on the lounges when cool weather sets in- as long as you're careful with how near you place it to the fire. Or... you could put some medium sized logs in it vertically just to reflect the idea that you have a fireplace... even if it's not a real wood fireplace. The black rustic chair is just perfect. I'm a big fan of matt black. I wonder if we'll ever get tired of this trend? Not so far! Now you'll have to get your 'spidey-senses' out to find more of these spindle chairs. I'm not sure about the artwork. I like the design and texture. That shade of brown is one of my favourite colours of the past year or two (even though I prefer it for clothes over home decor) but I don't feel that colour works against the other colours in your home. It's probably just the difference in our monitor settings but you seem to have a mix of warm and cool colours. You see this problem mostly when people use a lot of grey in their decor and they accidentally mix cool and warm greys. It just doesn't look quite right. If you're starting to get a bit tired of grey decor (as I think most people are now) you could always go for a black and white palette (though there are great differences in cool-whites and warm-whites so you'd still have to be careful). With a b&w background the contrasting rust-brown colour artwork would provide a good splash of colour without being too bright. The artwork is a bit small for the space but you could easily make a collage on that mantel using one larger picture and one smaller overlapping them a tad so they look deliberately designed. What do you think? Have I prattled on for too long here? Was I too blunt? (I must be a bit autistic or something as I've always said exactly what I was thinking, without judging anyone. I see the upside to this as I'm unlikely to lie.) I'm not trying to be critical just offering some ideas. It's YOUR home so it's your decision. Take my words as just food for thought. Nothing more, nothing less.
