Thank you! You answered my last question which was lifting the panel off the door once everything is loose. I'll just keep muscling it with less worry now.. For those who have the mechanical window crank handle, there is also a circlip around the base of the handle. It requires a special tool ... OR, as another helpful youtuber demonstrated, you can use a shop towel and slide it quickly against the top edge of the circlip to pop it out. I always put a table cloth or blanket under the door to catch things that would otherwise pop off and roll away into the ether. ha ha. Thank you again for making such a brief and straight forward demo!
Thank you for your common sense instructions about not trying to disconnect the electrical wiring and how hard the top rail of the panel is to disconnect.
I would like to see a video of the actual door taken off and put back on the 89 chevy truck. My truck is a 1992 and im trying to put a new door on. The door panel removal video was helpful though.
1030 am I have a 1989 with crank windows I watched your video and removed all I final step lifting the panel up ,it won't budge . I applied a lot of pressure to no avail .....?
I cannot get it off the ledge at the top! Any suggestions? (I'm actually trying to replace a broken door window on my 1988 Chevy 1500 Silverado. Do you have any videos with tips for that?)
I don’t have any videos for that. But you just really have to force that panel up, it might feel like it’s going to break but it won’t. On the inside of the door panels the pane of glass will usually either be bolted to the mechanism or just popped in. You will be able to see clearly when you look inside. You may have to move the window up and down for better access
Grip the top of the door panel & pull up and back, like you're twisting a throttle on a motorcycle. Put your 4 fingers in between the top gaskets for the window & use your thumb to grip lower down.
I need your help.. in the video at around 3:13 where you say "don't worry about this here, this doesn't need to come out.." what is that piece called? Im missing that little stopper/clip on the drivers side interior and it's burning my battery because i cant shut the interior light off. I need to find one and Im struggling to search for it because I don't know what to call it.. .
Jesus Garza I’m actually not too sure. The previous owner had it painted a custom color. Even when I took it to get the cowl induction hood and mirrors painted, the place had trouble matching the color. The mirrors are actually slightly darker than the rest.
@@jadehorizon1881 yea because i looked for some c1500 coverpanels online and only the suburban models look like that but it looks good better in my opinion
having same issue.certain parts on these trucks you can not find replacements for and its very annoying. try finding a front 4x4 steering knuckle or even a brake rotor dust shield for 4x4, they dont exisit (online) you can find the knuckles in the yards but not getting new. make them for 2wd trucks all day tho
