This video shows how to install 12X12 inch pavers as the floor for a green house. It shows preparing the ground, spreading the sand, setting the pavers and cutting pavers to fit.
That little lip that you cut off is the give you a gap for grout for expansion and contraction of the bricks during winter they're made like that your project came out nice.
Hi Joe, thanks for the info. What you said make sense. However, that little lip was only on one side of the paver on slightly over half of the pavers. In this case, I believe if the lip was for grout, that lip would have been on all 4 sides, or at least two sides so I could install a non lipped paver next to it. I have made my own pavers in the past and I had that lip form when I did not have my formwork properly mounted before pouring the concrete. Also I have put down nearly 500 pavers in the past, and have not seen this lip problem before. However, thanks for the comment and complement.
Hi Joe, I just wanted to do a quick follow up. What you said made so much sense, I thought long and hard as to why none of the bricks I ever used had lips. The reason would be that I left all those bricks in the store at the time of purchase. I LOVE learning new stuff!! Thanks Joe.
Sorry bounder97, I am a faithful subscriber, and I have a question about the Honeywell Vista alarm panel that you really helped me install years ago. I am wondering if you know when the alarm activates, and the perp leaves an alarmed door open, how long will the alarm sound without someone deactivating it with the code?
Hi Bobskee, I remember you. You have been with me almost from the beginning. Follow this link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nbMb3xxd4nY.html. It is part 12 of my "vista programming" series. I cover in detail how to set the time that the alarm will sound during a perp intrusion. Tonight I placed links in the video description so you can jump straight to the programming fields you need. Those field are 32 and 33. (a quick answer to your question is the times for alarm output for intrusion is 4, 8, 12 or 16 minutes. The times for fire alarms are the same as intrusion, or you can set it to never turn off.) Truth in lending fact: it will turn off once the house burns down regardless of programming. Thanks for sticking with me and keep the great questions coming.
No gravel on this project for three reason. The bricks are indoors and not exposed to the elements. There is no frost heave in this area, and there are no heavy loads on top of the bricks. You are right that many applications for pavers under heavy loads does require more foundation work.
