In the past, I’ve used tyvek to wrap on the spine for added strength, particularly around the part that creases. Wondering if the packing tape does a good enough job. I always have that, but don’t always have tyvek. Very fun tutorial!! The paper punch tool is an awl. Or “sharp pokey tool.” 😂

Hi Lisa...a little tip for you...when piercing your holes on your signatures...use an old telephone directory or a thick magazine...open it up...lay your signature in the centre and pierce...the book spine hold the papers in place...use your template too....

another tip..if i have shorter signatures...i washi tape shorties onto its neighbour...another thing when using beads,,i use more holes on my binding otherwise beads all fall down to the bottom..eg five holes...

Hello Lisa.. A couple of years ago I made a little golden book journal.. it was for my great nephew.. The golden book I used was old McDonald’s farm.. it about his great grandfather who he didn’t get to met..

The name for the whole punching tool is an all. Also to keep the signatures together I find it helpful to use clips and tape. I use washi tape to keep smaller pages from moving while I bind. I go through the first half of the signature and tape (with low tack tape) all of the smaller pages to larger pages. I use 4 clips for each signature. I use one on the tops and bottoms of each side of the folded page. This keeps the pages whith the same height together. I hope this helps.

I have been very inspired by you to make a Little Golden Book journal of our Disney cruise. I am thinking of maybe using binder rings to hold my book together. I am still pulling stuff together for this project and I am super excited to be creating again.

Love this journal! I’m having lots of trouble with my hands and thumb joints, I get lots of pain and swelling, which I think is osteoarthritis but waiting for a appointment to come through xx

I've sewn in a signature upside down before so I know how frustrated you got. I love making memory journals out of little golden books. I have some flip throughs of the ones I've made before on my channel. I hope you check them out. That 50th Mickey Mouse journal is going to turn out so cute. Great video as always.
