Paper blunts your needles very fast. If you use your sewing machine to sew materials, I would have a separate needle. I only use my sewing machine for JJs so I don't mind and I just use the one needle.

Hmm I'm not sure about a p.o. box (a part of me feels like I'm asking for things). In terms of giveaways, I'm not a fan of them. Perhaps I need to re-frame how I see it in my mind. But, I now have 31.000 subbies. Some of these subbies are new. Some have been with me from my very first video. Some watch, some don't. But there are some subbies (like yourself) who watch and comment on almost all of my videos. If I did a giveaway, only ONE person can win. That seems so totally unfair, especially if the person who wins is someone who subscribes only to enter the giveaway, and then unsubscribes right away, where as my true supporters get to feel disappointment. Do you see what I mean? I just think its totally unfair. Hence I don't do giveaways. I instead give 100% of myself and my time in each video that I do. For example, this video (What steps to follow?) took me 8 hours to complete, and that includes filming, editing, uploading, photos etc. And I believe I have reached 31.000 subbies BECAUSE I give 100% when I do this. This is just the way I see it. I am grateful every single day for each one of my subscribers, and I'm giving back in other ways where I feel most people benefit. When one person wins a giveaway, it means another (how ever many entered) will be left feeling disappointed.

You explained it beautifully and your so very thoughtful and considerate and I love that about your channel 🤗 it's lovely how much your channel has grown and no , I wouldn't see it as asking for anything , in our thrift shops we are blessed to be able to have access to some things and where you are it comes more a bit of a struggle and would love to gift you little things here and there 🤗🥰 and the way you get excited about your unboxings brought such joy and smiles to me . Acetone based glue will not warp paper. Water based glue will warp paper.I use Boyle craft glue, but if you are in the US, you can't get it there. In the US, I believe Fabritac is acetone based. PVA glues are water based.

I triple glue, and sew everything. I know that masking tape is designed to be pulled off. It is held in place with glue and thread. I usually apply masking tape first, and then cover it with fabric which is glued and sewn. I would never rely on masking tape (or washi tape, or double sided tape, or glue sticks for that matter) I hope this answers your question.

@@TreasureBooks New people just may not know. My question was when you do the cover first, how do you know how thick to make it? =)

@@iteeshollow I don't know how thick to make it. I go with what I have on hand. If it's a cereal box, I prepare it, and THEN decide how many signatures will fit. If I particularly want to make a journal with three signatures, I will keep that in mind when choosing my cover. I hope this helps. New people may not know a lot of things, just like I didn't when I first started, and in fact, I still don't know a lot of things. We learn by trial and error. I used duct tape on a cover in the past. Only to find out a year later that it becomes disgusting and sticky with time. Won't be doing that again :)

Spine strengthening would have been my very first step!

"Signature" is when you fold your pages in the middle and put them together. So if you have say, 8 pages, you fold them in the middle so that you can sew them in, and that is a signature. The book I made in this tutorial has one signature. You can have lots of signatures in a book, depending on how wide the spine is, and how many pages in a signature. I hope that helps :)

Thank you Wilma. I am never too worried about something being stitched only with one stitch, as long as the signature is not loose. Those small pages are held in with that one stitch, but also with the pages sitting bellow and on top. I hope that makes sense. I try to avoid putting the small piece in the middle of the signature, as in that case there won't be any other pages sitting on top to keep it in place.
