I have a new tongue courtesy @SawStop Technologies. It is the same size as the carry on trailer tongue and will be fun to add to this trailer since it has the tape measure on it. :) Look for that video soon as well. Thank you and have a blessed weekend. Dale

I use a 5x8 carry on trailer from TSC to carry my kayak (Old Town Autopilot 136). It works great. Saves the back. I wish it was 6x10.

I so agree, I would not even mind the 5x10, they are just hard to find. If my wife is going with me, I have a 6x12 that I use to hold both kayaks and it works great for the two of us, if I go solo, this is a better option and juts less stuff. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. Happy fishing and kayaking. dale

I have a similar 5x8 Karavan. A trailer repair shop made me a two foot longer 8 ft tongue for $166. Including drilling holes and mounting coupler

That's pretty awesome , that price is not bad either, makes it so much easier backing it with a. longer tongue too. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us and I hope you have a blessed week. Dale

Thank you so much brother, it is going to be another epic year fishing I tell ya, this one will be set up for my solo and tournament trips I am planning for this next year fishing season. I am keeping my Jackson and Angies Jackson on the trailer I converted for hauling two kayaks, when she wants to go, I will take those two and keep this one rigged up for color trips and tournaments. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment as it truly helps this little channel out. I am trying to make this a full time job for me for some income, its. a slow process, however, I do believe God will open some doors to make this a reality of an income for us. Thanks again brother and have a blessed weekend. Dale

Great how-to video! I'm curious to which kayak you're targeting now, so looking forward to what you end up with. I've loved my Hobie PA14, and have been able to carry my pups safely. Let me know if you end up down Rockport way, and we can get out on the water!

Oh most definat3ley brother, I would so so so love to do that and having a buddy to go with will make it funner. I may have told you this, my dad took me to Lockport when I was 10 to go out and wade fished, I loved it, had a blast, didnt catch much to speak of but really enjoyed it and I have wanted to go back specifically to Lockport since I was a kid, I wanted the Hobie PA 14 bad, If I lived closer to a Hobie dealer, Like with in 2 hours, I still may have got it, but in the end, I go pick up the new one in the morning, video coming soon, not that I dont mind telling you, just dont want to ruin it for th other guys,. Thank you so much for the kind words and the offer to go fish with you. I would love to do that this fall sir. I hope yall are doing well and have a. blessed weekend. Dale

Thanks for letting me know your trailer tongue is bolted on, if you end up with your tongue missing and you see me giggling it wasn't me🤣. 97 degrees you better wear your ear muffs 🤣

How far off the rear of the trailer were the pvc bunks? Looks like 2 ft. How long were the cedar boards after you cut them? So how do you measure on the cedar boards where to drill the holes for the pvc bunks? Thanks

Man I should have wrote it all down. I think I had them roughly 12” apart up front and 13 inches in the back. Yea sir. You’re right on the guess they hang off the back about 2 foot roughly. I did remake them with wooden bunks. Based off a guy who lived out here telling me the pvc warped his knarr. So I rebuilt it with 2x4 cedar and just kept cutting angle pieces until they for the shape of the kayak. Took a while to make that happen but it holds the kayak like a customer made hat now. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. Dale.

Are most trailer lights water proof? or would i need to get a new set of water proofed lights? just curious, no one ever mentions that.. cause if i build something like this im backing it into the water and unloading. for my backs sake lol

I dont think the majority of these cheaper trailers have water proof. lights, you could replace them with marine grade lights, or unplug them before you back them in or option 3 would be dont back it in so far that the lights get in the water, my 12 foot trailer I have which holds two kayaks better, is just long enough you dont have to back the trailer any further than the back of the trailer hitting the water and the lights on it are not in the water. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and sorry for the delay, I missed this comment some how. Dale

And to think I would have just sat my kayak on the floor of the trailer and strapped it down. 🤣

hahaha, yeah depending on the kayak you have, it can eventually crush the bottom flat. (ask me how I know) second to that, Joe, there is no Heave Hoeing anymore, this things slides off the trailer on the boat ramp with no effort, even loaded down with gear, and when you load up at the end of the day, you dont have to lift the kayak, it slide right up just by pulling the rope you tie to the front of your yack. So So SO So much easier. I love it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed weekend. LETS GO FISHING.. Dale
