I have a black bag which I would like to get a vintage looking buffalo bag so I would need to use a reddish brown, have roughed up the leather (acetone and rubbing on concrete and gravel)

I was gifted a 3-piece leather set couch loveseat and chair recliner. It shows a little where in places and some marks just have a handprint sized I don't know how to explain it the color is just faded in little speckles so I went to Hobby Lobby and they sold me a brown leather dye and told me to apply it with a wall applicator and then buff it with the rag well the minute it touched my leather it was there to stay there was no moving it buffing it now I have these horrible streaks cuz I was about to go to town what can I put over it even if it's just the seat cushions on the loveseat?
