Just made a lava lamp with existing controller but followed similar method of using foam ( sort of combined different DIY as i tried to use the materials i had in home). It looks good, the diffusion is satisfying. Next steps are to get arduino nano and experiment

It's the best when you get things to work , specially if you use the things you have at home. Well done.

Wow, this is cool... I didn't know that we should use foam to create the light diffusion... Great idea! Thank you!

You don't have to but I found it effective on this project. On another I am using hot glue sticks to defuse the light

why you don't use clear tape ?
@Mexnov

I didn't because it was temporary use of the project

What if I use more than 200 leds?
@Mexnov
@Mexnov 3 года назад
Well on the top of your code I use an example of 30 LEDs you can change the code by declaring it to be 200.there should not be to much hassle using 200leds but if you are worried about that you can always Cut the strip, solder a wire to continue the information from one strip to the next and run a new positive and negative cables from the power source which in your case can be the anything with 5v. Hope that helps.

you think I'll have to get a raspberry pi to run it independently?
@Mexnov
@Mexnov 3 года назад
@@alejandrocastillo9209 well you need an Arduino Nano or any Arduino really and it can run independently. It's cheaper then a raspberry Pi. The code will also change if you use a Pi.
