I used this tutorial to make a dog collar!! Thank you so much :) heres how I did it: I measured my dog’s neck (17”), and did 1/2 a foot, for every inch of the finished product. So my long strings ended up being 25’. I made my short strings 4’ and it worked out fine. :)

Thank you for the instruction...if I might suggest something. Using the same color makes this video a little confusing visually. Might I suggest using three different colors of paracord. Not only will the end result be visually more appealing, but it will also help visually being able to tell which of the cords you are currently weaving.

This video is pure 24karat gold. Just spotted that there are only 6 comments. Wow. No comprendo. Anyway, i acutally wrote to ask what weave you normally do in the end. Or if you just stop it there? I am thinking about adding a bit of quick deployable lenght to the belt, instead of that rattler endie. Preferrably the zipper sinnet since it's the only quickdeploy i know of that can be partially deployed in case i only need 2 feet of cord :) I know i'd end up with two pieces of cord if i partially deploy it. But rather that, than the all or nothing quickdeployweaves
@Paracordguy
@Paracordguy 7 лет назад
Lifeisawheelie thanks for the kind words. the knot I usually use is a little difficult to explain. it's just something I developed over the past 6 years doing this stuff, I'd honestly love to share it but there's realky no way I could word but properly so that anyone would understand. best of luck with your quick deploy, let me know how it works :)

ok I have to ask somewhere so here goes. Very good instructional video you have. I've been watching videos on belt building and everyone cuts end nearly flush and burns ends. This holds up over time under use without unraveling?

@Paracordguy

I would guess you wove it the opposite way than this. It's an easy thing to do, most folks weave them like that anyway. Try it again if you like, it will work fine as a belt either way. Congrats and thanks for watching!

Question. I made this belt over the last few days and I screwed up the length. I have a 36 waste and my finished belt is 41 inches but has maybe two inches to spare once on. Is there any way to remedy this and make it longer? Or am I going to have to make a new one?
@Paracordguy
@Paracordguy 8 лет назад
Thanks for the question, and to answer that technically Yes you can. You'd need to unravel the belt back a few inches. and take every strand you have and add the same color paracord by melting the ends and welding them together. this can be tricky, but if you do it right it can be nearly unnoticeable. you can always gift or sell your current belt to offset the cost you incur from the materials. good luck and thanks again for the question.
@Paracordguy
@Paracordguy 8 лет назад
One more thing, I've been told by fashion forward folks that a belt need only 2-3 inches left over to be a properly fitted belt. not sure if you want to go through the trouble of extending it if it fits and you have a few inches left over that should be just about perfect. cheers
@CouchGuy19
@CouchGuy19 8 лет назад
+The Para-Cord Guy Ty for the reply. It did fit, but I only had maybe am inch I'm excess. I ended up kinda doing what you said, except I kinda did a variation of the manny method except for only one end of the cord. It worked out and I extended it around 4 inches.

Do you think this stitch would work with a cowboy belt?
@Paracordguy
@Paracordguy 4 года назад
Misty C. That’s a tough call! I’ve never really looked at the way a cowboy belt buckle attaches to a belt. This style is designed for a roller buckle, that much I know for sure. It needs to have the keeper go through the entire belt. Perhaps you could weave in grommet holes that will help keep the buckle in place? Wish I could be more helpful, thanks for watching and Merry Christmas!

Alloise Jones I couldn't agree less. But hey, I've only woven hundreds of thousands of feet of paracord goods, what the hell would I know?

The Para-Cord Guy I wasn't talking about for paracording. I was just saying for every day use bic is the best.

Well wouldn't it make sense that I was talking from the perspective of paracord weaving? And wouldn't it make sense that your comment would be referring to the contrary?

The Para-Cord Guy to be honest at first I was referring to paracording. Then I really thought about it I don't know much about paracording. And honestly my day was going like shit and I wanted to start a fight then I realized let's not.
