If you put a tire valve you put pressure air, you increase buoyancy and it supports more weight Change the metal straps by silk or non-metallic safety increases durability in water
"Temper" the atmosphere inside the barrels by uncapping them at colder temperatures then re-install the caps. This will keep the barrels from collapsing in hot temps. Question: how in the world would a tire pressure valve be installed? Maybe there already are barrels with valve attachments.
I’m hoping to build one for myself and some friends-maybe a bit longer though (I’m thinking 4 drums per side). What motor would you recommend using for max 5 people?
it's a Minn Kota trolling motor, a powerdrive by the looks of it on the video. max thrust of 55 on 12V, or the bigger one which is max thrust of 70 on 24V. good for boats up to 21'
This os awesome. Nice build. WAYYYYY too much weight for a take in and out of water set up. But to dock in the water its cool. I'd like to try xps foam and epoxy glass for platform? Lighter and more waterproof...
cut a window in the top of the barrel allowing ballast and live well to be utilized those straps don't look strong enough with a ''window cut out you could bolt the barrels onto a treated lumber frame
CARA ... SE VAI USAR MOTOR , DEVERIA TER COLOCADO UM CONE NO TOPO DOS GALÕES, O QUE VOCÊ FEZ NÃO É NENHUMA NOVIDADE, JA FIZEMOS ISSO NOS ANOS 70, USANDO TAMBORES DE AÇO. SE TEM QUE SE LOCOMOVER TEM QUE USAR CONE NO TOPO.
Yeah you can buy a new cheap 3-4 hp. 2stroke for under $200.00 on ebay and a small jon and not hassle with the legality. I believe anything motorized needs state stickers.
