bro I don't now if you knew it at the time but the Destroy Boys girls got themselves in quite the drama when they...like...defended the manipulative pedophile from SWMRS when Lydia from The Regrettes came out about their toxic relationship....and didn't made any real apology or even stood by her at any moment (specially Vi who is also involved in other pretty messed up shit she made) so, yeah, not really a great band to have a patch of in your vest
Yeah i actually just found out about that during the 500 livestream and I have removed rhe patch and i no longer associate myself with the band’s following. When I made the patch i didnt know about any of that. I just thought they were a great riot grrrl band. They are no longer supported by me or my channel
I used to love Destroy Boys so much but now I'm just so disappointed in them. I read their apology and it seemed kind of half assed then they deleted it soon after.

As a military brat and someone with a little free time I did some research on what the military jacket is. It looks like a WWii sergeant first class uniform. Since there is not a lot of detail it might have never been used, which is rare or someone took really good care of it. I'm not 100% certain on this, but that's what it looks like. If the manufacturers of the jacket's name is on it that might lead you to exactly when it was made. But the build, colors and aging might point to WWii. Hope this helps!
Im not really punk, just into like emo music and all that. But ive been in a horrible depression and ive been looking for things to inspire me and make me feel empowered and feel better. These videos randomly popped up and im glad they did because I love your content! Love the peaceful yet direct vibes. i recently made a vest and i need to start making some buttons and patches soon. only have a trans rights pin and a terribly made rat skull patch on denim.
im an army vet man and that dress jacket you showed is probably JROTC or something because i dont remeber the shoulder flaps being marked unless its an officer. NCO and Jr enlisted wear their ranks on the sleeves. its hard to tell from the limited screen time, next video show it more or i can DM you on insta if you want more info on it, either way im excited to see what you do with it. keep it up bro
if anyone wants more detail about the matrix being a trans film: both directors, the wachowskis, are trans women. one of them (can't remember which off the top of my head) publically confirmed that the trans subtext was there, but if you've ever watched the matrix through a trans eye you already saw that. neo taking on a new name, choosing whether to repress the feeling that something just isn't right or to pursue a truth that will make you publically hated, and the fact that the most common form of feminizing hrt at the time was a red pill? all adds up to pretty genderfuck narrative. also all trans people can dodge bullets. Coming from the metal scene I’m not used to seeing so much DIY band merch. Do punk artists not mind when people make their own patches etc. instead of buying it from the band? In my “scene” I feel like that would be seen as not supporting the band, even if the DIY skills are appreciated. (These videos are inspiring me to paint some patches but idk if I’d use band logos or just some non-band pictures/slogans)
It varies. Some bands even refuse to make merch. And punks are also all about supporting bands! Especially underground bands by buying their merch. Its just a lot of us dont have the money to always buy merch so this is a solution. Also several of us are against giving too much money to corporations

if you dont wanna buy necklace claps/theyre too small to tie, use safety pins or even paperclips, they've def saved me from broken chains without breaking the bank :]
I love military jackets I have a 1973 M65 jacket like the vintage one but I will buy an other jacket in the same style but like some sort of copy cuz I can't bring my self to modify a peace of history.

Well if you make vests you can always layer up under them. You can also paint or put patches on any kind of jacket really. DIy Punk is pretty cold weather friendly
