Thanks for this video, now i have made around 10-20 patches. Really easy to do too, i skipped using a printer cause it's much cheaper to just draw the band logo off my computer screen.
it's like the manufactured ripped jeans a lot of mainstream people are buying manufactured ripped jeans SERIOUSLY! .. this is why we need more punks like you all of Tennessee People Like You on RU-vid keep it real my friend I'll be punks it's not the 80s I'm in my fifties and still loving it
I get all my jeans from either friends or goodwills with the five finger discount so I aint gonna lie if there is a pair of levis 512s or 510s either dark blue or black but they have those shit ass company holes Im still taking it but thats only because im not paying for it otherwise I agree, besides when you wear them down yourself or make the hole yourself it looks way better. but thank god right now all my holes ive earned
SOME ADVICE: i mostly do embroidery on my vests, been digging the stamp patch style lately, i made few of my own but they ended up degrading really fast because (A.) Unfinished sides mean unraveling of the patch, so use an antifray glue on the edges, a crap ton of paint, or sew half an inch in on to your vests. (B.) Make sure to use black, dark navy, or a blood red as your base fabric color, cause its gonna get dirty as fuck when youre moshing against 90 other sweaty dudes in equally dirty vests, and its gonna show. An intricate white patch is gonna get fucked.(C) not a problem i faced, but make sure you use a waterproof paint like acrylic or fabric paint, or else your patch will bleed when wet. Good luck dudes
@@v0n2x018 Same I also stitch some black thread all the way around to try and give it a border so to say lol that last one might be more superstition then anything but oh well
@@LyraPyxisVT you gotta proof it with fabric medium, a bottle lasts a really long time. Or do it really thick and seal it over and on the back with something else
@@susan5339 idk what that is, do you know where I can find it? Can it be found in local Walmart? And Everytime I do put it on fabric it feels hard and it makes my fabric lose stretch
Soo I’m not punk myself but my husband is, I know he has told me a lot of punks really pride themselves on doing all their own stuff on their own (sewing patches on, studding jackets vests pants, etc) but would it be weird if I helped him make these patches? His eyesight is god awful but if I just cut the stencils/traced them..it wouldn’t like seem bad right? Like he can paint and put them on the fabric and cut out his own sized cloth for it.. (Sorry if im not wording this correctly.)
This is a really new form of screen printing that never would I have thought of. I enjoyed watching this tutorial. I can't sleep and I find it and the music relaxing.
@@sidthejovian5105 Dont know if you already did one but if not here is a tip: Some one told me to make the first layer of the paint white because I dont have red fabric paint for dark cloth and it wouldn't be visible otherwise. If you plan to do that let the white paint layer dry or else it will mix up a bit with the red dye and it will look kinda pinkish. Seems obvious but I was to dumb to figure it out myself. Now I'm rocking a pink slipknot patch thought 🤟. Sorry for my bad english btw.
I had a lot of success doing this with a plastic folder too! I was able to make plenty to give to my friends without it soaking in the paint and getting warped
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was a bit worried because I want to get a lot of patches from different bands, but they are too expensive! So I will try this
Wow, gee, this is helpful, sometimes I don't have money to buy new patches so I made this and put it on my battle jacket, I use different colours and it works. Thx dude, stay sic 🤘🏽
thanks you, as much as i like buying patches and using fast fashion, i appreciate that you,ve given me the option to DIY my own patches. i always wanted my jacket to be the most personal thing in my wardrobe, and so i appreciate this video, and you
good job, i made an anarchy A (neat style) and patches for nomeansno, ramones and swans. i only did one coat with radiator paint, kept it neat and also gave a nice vintage faded effect. it's nice seeing others peoples efforts and techniques
Never thought of this technique before, I used to use cereal boxes scavenged from the recycling, and parchment(?) paper back when it was poor quality and stick when heated. I’ll definitely have to try this out, thanks
Another good idea is to use freezer paper which sticks to fabric if you use a clothes iron! Only downside is that you have to trace your patches from a screen.
Thanx for making it so easy 4 us, a lot of ppl these days don't really get the fact that this shit sorta has to be cheap nd easy to do, so...thanx for this bro, you have rlly nice hands btw🔥
love your channel my friend keep it real in a debt in this day and age most Punk Rockers are not real they phony there about fashion like hot topics and all those stupid fake Punk stores but you doing it real DIY supposed to be
alfiex 666, that is how it should be, punks support each other, but there are a lot of people who just wear the fashion without regard for the music, and thats cool too
alfiex 666 yep, and it’s just as much attitude as fashion and music! Honestly, if you like a piece of clothing, hell, buy it! Whether it’s hottopic, Spencer’s etc etc. (Also I know this is old but)
Alsoooo if you just learned after several weeks that printer ink is expensive, Instead of printing the logo, you can simply find the image on your screen, (computer or large tablet) To the life size size you want your patch to be, then put lined or printer paper over the screen with tape or a clip, and trace the logo, Then continue with steps after printing in this video.
@@fbiguy5269 I just printed my own stuff along with school related stuff, easy to do when you're working with a laptop connected to the school printer.
Definitely gonna make my own now. My mam bought a few Mötley Crüe patches for me this xmas but im definitely making my own because ive heard abt theshit factories that theyre made in
what type of fabric do you use and where can i get it ? is it just a certain kind of clothing cut up or what also very informative and simple thank u :) not a punk but a goth , have to make my own back patch bc my favorite band rlly is not that popular so there arent any existing ones i can buy
hi if you end up putting too much glue onto the patch (like me) you can soak it in some warm-ish water and soap to get it off. of course wait till the paint is completely dry :)
If any germans are here trying to figure out which fabric dye to use Marabu is the best out of my experience. And if you only want to use white or black colour you dont have to buy the special version for dark fabric the normal one's work aswell and are also way cheaper because you can buy them in big bottles.
