With the freezing weather setting in here in England the conditions are totally wrong for spray painting cars!! Add to this to my lack of talent AND the fact I am using rattle cans, and we have the perfect conditions for a DISASTER!! . . . . . . . but I cracked on with the job anyway! 😃

I'm going to use spray cans to do my engine bay.. can't afford a compressor or painter ... its been a pain so far. Would be good to know what grades of sandpaper I should be using .. any info appreciated

If you like lennys extras you could make hidie a resto mod. Run in some heated seat pads etc as they are not that hard to install a mate of mine done it to his mk7 transit with a diy kit the hard bit is removing the seat cover but otherwise easy.

Next time you seam seal and use a standard builders silicone gun you need to chuck the seam sealer tube in a bucket of hot water for ten minutes first

Lovely job on the in the boot fella. Don't worry about the runs. If they bug you to much then search YT for trimming the runs with a blade.. It does work. Congratulations on the subs 👏. Good luck dude. ✌️ 👍

that's very good ............. believe me i know, i had my car resprayed 3 times this summer due it being screwed up twice.....you've probably got a hidden talent there.... but lets see what it looks like tomorrow out there in the freezing cold; fingers crossed. runs are a problem, you need to practice with a spray gun but what you've done there is extremely good for an amateur, it's got a bloody good shine.

Thanks mate! 👍 Iv had a fair bit of experience with spray cans over the years but these 2K spray cans give a way better finish than the cellulose ones in Halfords. They are also noticeably better than the 2K ones I used on Heidi's interior (these had an 'air drying activator' in them and didn't have the ring pull on the bottom) 👍

Looks well mate. Good progress! Get yourself a Tajima Sealer Gun if you are buying a new one! Around £25 or so. Well worth it

I lined my boot with self adhesive carpet , it's cheap and easy to form

Hi Marcus,another good vid, that's a great job and nice finish there 😍, I would advise that you wear a decent mask with the 2k spray as its an isocyanate and causes hardening in the respiratory system buddy 😉👍

You need warmer weather for this, the seam sealer won’t want to flow.

A 1300 differential with a 2 lt engine will blow the diff time and time again. I used to blow diffs and not the drive shafts so not sure what's going on.. Try an rs diff.

Mate I’m so glad you used 2k cans and not a 🤬roller 😂you have done amazing job with the conditions you have done it in you would get less reaction if you had some heat 😂and maybe put it on a little bit thinner try building it up in thin coats but all said mate looks amazing 👍

Looks good 👍🏻 once you’ve brushed the sealer on clean off the excess sealer from the brush and get a cup of thinners dip the brush in it a bit then lightly go over the sealer to smooth it off even more

You guys are so lucky to have a decent body company down south because its nearly impossible to find the right people in the Midlands! My car has already been to one in Blidworth and it turned out to be waste of time....I'm losing the will with it to be honest.

had the same issue, i had to get a brand new door from the scrappers in the end, nobody could get it right........... silver is hard to paint match............... new door cost 160 quid, but i spent a thousand on resprays

I sent a shell in for a full hit and ended up taking it out after the front end was done, so I'm now stuck with it needing 1x door lining up 2x front wings fitting, 2x rear arch replacing and also a rear panel.

any other colour than metallic and you'd be ok, because if you just do a door it'll always show in silver, you have to blend the whole side in. @@marcushayesford

If you ever get in a bind with those guns again.. just push down the metal rod manually or just poke a screwdriver handle or something blunt and long into the bottom of the sealer. It's awkward, but it works.

Marcus nothing worse than wearing down fingernails when rubbing back very painful if you get reactions try holding spray can further away from area you wish to paint and apply a dry coat not so heavy if it looks spotty don't worry as you can build it up and block it out love your progress great car keep up the good work be patient you will see rewards.

As long as you use 2k epoxy primer it doesn't really matter using spray can paint. Maybe it's time to rent a cheap lock up with electricity.

I actually used 1K epoxy. The dream is to get workshop with power but Im not there finically yet. Some people don't even have a garage though so Im grateful for what I have. 👍

@@marcushayesford you can for underside etc use 2k epoxy ie mix it by hand then paint using a roller. It's how I did mine and looks a bit like stonechip. Such great stuff to protect from rust n seals in any particles of rust so won't rust again.

You will never get it perfect less you pay silly amount of money for a whole bare metal spray job so your doing a good job with it being outside in the cold looks like a good shell good that you're not painting it blue like the two escorts you have mate
