Beautiful! I glad you left it natural. Love the paper you used. It’s nice to see old pieces brought back to life instead of tossed away. I’m refurbishing a 1920’s sewing cabinet. The veneer was all loose and legs were unglued so it definitely had seen better days. But under the veneer it was still solid wood. Can’t find that in todays furniture.
I took pieces, painted or shellacked, to stripper & ALL the finish was removed in a big vat of chemicals, leaving the wood light in color with a matt finish. For decades. Great look.
That came out beautifully! Really thought you came up with the perfect paper solution for the inside as well. Fits the outside and just was a great update!
Well done! If this is the trend, it is a good one. Taking the old embellishments off and making it simpler was a very good choice. It updated the piece more and it will surely be passed down as a real keepsake. I assume the most ideal furniture to do this to is solid wood.
Im re-doing an English sideboard now that was made from solid Walnut and then they covered with some veneer. I think it was done later.. Your piece looks Walnut as well
Absolutely gorgeous...I love this Natural Wood look ..I'm almost done with sealing an 1870s Eastlake Dresser that I sanded down just like yours and oh boy talk about Loads of sanding but the End results are breathtaking Just like Yours ..Love this buffet 🥰👍
@@lubblyjubblyfurniture I hope it Looks as beautiful as yours does. .I will upload on Instagram To your chat when I'm done so you can see ..and Yes it's gonna be a while before I sand an entire piece down 🤣❣️
I have the same question is this a trend? . I have been teetering back and forth on a buffet I have. Should I do it all natural or so the two tone. Paint some leave some natural. Is all natural coming back in?
I would say yes! This sideboard sold right away and ive just done a huge cabinet in raw wood as well. Im seeing alot of raw wood pieces now in magazines and other home pages. I find I lean towards wanting to finish a piece raw wood now lol
Im in Canada and every area is different for pricing. You need to look in your area to see what sells for certain prices. Thank you so much for watching ❤️
Thank you. I had mentioned in the video that this piece had already been so much work sanding and that sanding the insides would have been much more difficult due to the lack of space and I found the perfect paper design for it so I wanted to use it 😀
